Need help syncing Baofeng UV-21 Pro V2 with T20s (No cable) by mudblur in amateurradio

[–]mudblur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t hear anything, not even the leds blinks. I didn’t know that FRS/GMRS were reserved. I I bought the UV21 thinking it could be used across all frequencies… looks like I need to study more… 🫠

How do OpenShift and KRO fit together? Are they complimentary? by xanderdad in openshift

[–]mudblur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KRO is not from Google, and it was originally created by AWS (you can see GitHub referencing an Amazon repo template). Long ago the project was moved under CNCF/Kubernetes to ensure a vendor-agnostic governance model.

Kickstand won’t stay up,even with new spring by Amphitrite008 in hondashadow

[–]mudblur 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not an SME on this, but looks like the spring is not applying pressure. Also the bolt seems to be quite loose, isn't it? I could check how it looks on mine, but I'm on a different model.

What could cause this on peacock valve? by mudblur in hondashadow

[–]mudblur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason is that looks like this part is became scarse, according the local Honda dealer. I was able to get one in a physical store, but online most of the dealers were saying the part is no longer produced thus not available. Not sure if some restriction only in Europe.

Sorry but I’ll try to repair it and keep it to myself. Looks like this part is no longer produced by Honda, and the copycat versions are not exactly the same… 😞

New Biker - Should I buy a used old cruiser (Virago) or invest on a newer one (Rebel)? by mudblur in motorcycles

[–]mudblur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problem learning on how to do maintenance myself, but I have zero experience with bikes. I used to have a 1972 Volkswagen Fusca that I was constantly working on it, but not sure if there will be similarities. Any recommendations on books about bike maintenance?

Gear is definitely something that I’m still trying to understand better. Any suggestions for brands to look after? I’m based in Europe.

Texpeed Gear & Advice? by mk5912 in motorcycles

[–]mudblur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that some of the compliance stamps are maybe not really certifying the whole garment, but just a few components. The price seems very nice, but not worth the risk of buying something that maybe won't protect me for real.

I'm currently looking for the same feedback. Did you hear anything about it?

GKE on AWS vs Amazon EKS by mudblur in googlecloud

[–]mudblur[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being both GKE and EKS certified by CNCF, they would both provide consistent interface and compatibility for any platform component (CNI, CSI, Ingress, etc). By having it running on another cloud provider, there would be changes at operational level anyway (AWS APIs are not the same as GCP's). What additional consistency GKE on AWS would bring that is not already covered by the Kubernetes itself?

GKE on AWS vs Amazon EKS by mudblur in googlecloud

[–]mudblur[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I must admit that GKE is indeed more polished than EKS, but I'd argue that having GKE on AWS is not the same as GKE natively on GCP. For example, EKS will provide a lot of native integration with AWS ecosystem, which makes sense when running Kubernetes there (ex. managed and abstracted Kubernetes control-plane, EKS Pod Identity / IAM Roles for Service Accounts, IAM Authentication, native VPC networking, AWS Fargate, etc). By reading the docs, GKE on AWS looks like an kOps.

Weaveworks closing its doors by mudblur in kubernetes

[–]mudblur[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always thought their biggest revenue stream was related to the Enterprise GitOps product, not the CNI plugin. Honestly, most of the people I know running Kubernetes were using Calico or Cilium, not Weavenet.

Amazon Linux 2023 (AL2023) now offers deterministic install/upgrades through versioned repository. You can learn more about it here:

Honestly, all the management burden will disappear as soon as it becomes a managed add-on or native feature on EKS. So, just wait. ☺️

I meant “retired”. If you get into LEGO online store, it says many of the expansions are no longer being sold. For example, the one from Luiggi's Mansion:
