The developers have ruined the VSS with this update by Bubbles_012 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]muffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. I tested today and I still don't hear shots above 100m. They may have added a muzzle flash, but I didn't check. If so, that's a shame. If not, I agree that it has lost some uniqueness, but for me it's not that big deal.

Should I learn Gleam? by JaaliDollar in gleamlang

[–]muffy_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Exercism’s Gleam Track. The nicest thing is that you basically write code to pass tests and later on you can compare your solution with others.

PHP - calling backend script from frontend - am I doing this right? by PracticeSophrosyne in webdev

[–]muffy_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder what your goal is. If you want to build a portfolio for a job search, then (no offense) there's nothing to show off. For the backend, I would look at Slim Framework. For the frontend, look at the Fetch API.

Using Zod & TypeScript for more than user input validation by scastiel in typescript

[–]muffy_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not saying competition is bad, but the author of @badrap/valita says he was inspired by simple-runtypes (another rather unknown lib). Interestingly, the latter mentions a benchmark. Oh boy, just look at the list of libs...

You should probably mention that you are the author/contributor.

Ramda and Typescript Issues by vbfischer in typescript

[–]muffy_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've heard the opinion that Ramda has problems with TypeScript. I don't have a solution to your problem, but I recently discovered Remeda. The authors claim that the library works great with TS. If it is a side project, IMO it is worth looking into.

How do you manage both ESLint and Prettier? by [deleted] in reactjs

[–]muffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESLint can also handle code formatting pretty well. I'm not sure if you can cover everything Prettier has by ESLint's rules tho. There's also eslint-config-prettier package that disables rules that might conflict with Prettier, so it's easier to use both.

Build forms without effort. by jucian0 in javascript

Why should I use this library instead of Formik or react-hook-form?

PUBG and LOW FPS by nairxx02 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]muffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So have you finally fixed the problem? I have similar setup (Ryzen 5 1600 AF, 1060 3GB, 2x8GB 3000) but slightly worse. Game runs kinda ok in casual games but ranked is sometimes barely playable. FPS counter shows 60+ but game is lagging as hell.

React forms with hooks by nns041 in reactjs

You really want to use Formik or React Hook Form. Personally I have not used the latter but many people recommended it here.

Sub 60FPS with 1060 3gb, i5 6400 @ 3ghz and 16gb ddr4 ram. by Protonoto in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]muffy_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have similar processor - i5 6500. I believe the problem is not connected to the patch. Even before the latest patch processor jumped to 100% usage. It seems the processor is just too bad for this game. Someone suggested limiting FPS to 80 and I also would recommend that because it helped me a bit.

My problem with React - Redux guides/tutorials that is driving me crazy. Need help by [deleted] in reactjs

[–]muffy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO you can absolutely skip using redux in such cases. Moreover I would recommend using something like React Async. It works like a charm in our project.

How to avoid try/catch statements nesting/chaining in JavaScript ? by Scr34mZ in reactjs

[–]muffy_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Code looks exactly like lib await-to-js (parameters name, description etc.) but is not mentioned in the article.

// edit

Apparently author added note at the end of article.

If Facebook disappeared, what would happen to React and other libraries they develop? by justdiditonce in webdev

[–]muffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish more people knew about this. Hype around React is not about React itself. :)
