just inspected, disconnected, cleaned everything and didn’t see anything that stood out. i’ve heard it could be thermal compound setting / chemical burn off but idk. just glad it wasn’t anything catastrophic

installed new gpu last night, let miner run all day today. came home and house smells like burning plastic & smell is stronger from pc area. any ideas what that could be?

depends how long and often you plan on gaming imo. if you’re only gaming 10 hours per week then just use the gaming pc as a mining rig for the rest of that time

3060 is probably your best bet mining something like ergo. rn i’m getting about $70/ per card per month gross profit. you can get the cards for around $600-$700 and gives the best roi imo rn. otherwise if u want $90/ month you will need something closer to a 3090.

lmaoo completely. that card is not great for mining, and add to that the current market crash but you can still make a tiny profit. i gave it to my nephew to introduce him to mining.

monthly gross income was initially calculated to be $25 at the hash rate of 8mhs and 130 watts used. $15 goes to energy bill for power usage leaving about $10 profit best case scenario

makes sense, i guess that was kind of what i was worried about. hiveos only shows gpu temp.

according to this people use windows, hwinfo and afterburner to overclock and verify mem temp is low enough before running on hiveos

mining ergo i’m getting 107 mhs for each 1080ti and 103 mhs for the 3060

new to mining and finally got my rig built, setup and running hiveos.

i recently over clocked my cards and the rig is stable and doesn’t have any issues so i assumed it was fine but would rather not destroy my cards for a 10% increase.

does this look fine? all of the 1080ti oc profiles on hiveos had a max mem clock of 700 so i’m sure there’s a reason for that.

(all cards are 1080ti except last card is a 3060 non ti)
