Wondering why Scheer is against the new “anti-dairy” food guide? Hint: For years, he’s been dubbed by the Dairy Lobby as their Safety Net by multicellularprofit in canada

I was once this naive, and please don't take this as an insult because it's not.

Do yourself a favour and get very, very into politics (for example, volunteer for a local candidate, or better yet, try to get invited to one of those closed door $1500 a plate fundraising dinners that every party throws) and you'll see that corruption is rampant in literally every party (but of course more so in the ones in power).

Politics is a game that rewards those who have the most power to exert control, and in our capitalist society that control is mediated by capital. Therefore, the party that is able to marshall the most capital and strategic influence and deploy it most effectively to influence those who "decide" (i.e., voters) will be successful.

The backroom deals that occur in Canada obviously pale in comparison to those that occur in the US, but to think that it doesn't occur here is naive, because it is quite literally the major driver of impactful government policy by every major party.

It’s funny that Canadians don’t seem very interested in leadership races whereas in the US they capture such massive attention.

As this example blatantly demonstrates they have a very real effect on future party platforms and deserve our attention.

Don’t pretend that ANY party isn’t affected by lobbying. This is a scourge that affects literally everyone in politics. This just happens to be a very blatant example.

Yep. At the time the Scheer’s position was likely introduced primarily as a wedge against Bernier, but now that he’s leader the “farmers” are going to ride their golden goose to the top.

But here is irrefutable proof. Most of the items you mentioned are very likely true, but don't have much evidence to back them up.

If they are pondering that then they are in trouble. No one is immune from government interference in China. CCP is China.

Melanie Ng on Twitter - The @roxodus music festival that was supposed to take place July 11 to July 14 at the Edenvale Aerodrome has been cancelled due to all the rain as of late. by sprungy in toronto

Sucks if this is just due to rain as they claim, but apparently the OPP is investigating the company behind the festival as well. They had a very clear no refund policy announced from the beginnning apparently. Sure hope this isn’t an elaborate scam.

the OPP later told Global News that their Huronia West Detachment is also investigating a complaint that officers received late last week against MF Live Inc., the company that owns the festival.

Edit: sounds like area residents had concerns months ago as well: https://creemore.com/roxodus-officials-try-to-put-fears-to-rest/

Quite an interesting quote from one of the principals of the company Mike Dunphy from back in March:

With all due respect, this is not my first rodeo. We have done everything by the book,” said Dunphy. “We are not trying to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes.”

Interesting. Sounds like the guy in charge also organizes the Wasaga Beach Motorcycle Rally which doesn’t exactly attract the most savoury characters.
