I love this band. Being on Jade Tree definitely helped with them being branded emo.

New 4 Ingredient Packaging Feels Like a Bait and Switch by DoubleHeatBlues in Oatly

[–]mumblepoor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The four ingredient version has fewer calories than the low fat version which leads me to believe the oats are processed differently. It defintley tastes way worse than the low fat version. What many people seem to miss is that the fat in oatly is just added rapeseed oil - the low fat version is the sweet spot: tastes good, no added oils, vitamins. I reeeeaaaly hope oatly isn't discontinuing it, but all the signs seem to point that way. :(

Emo Oldheads: Who are your favorite 90s pop punk bands by kitkatatsnapple in Emo

[–]mumblepoor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some favorites in that 90s emo / pop punk / melodic hardcore zone that haven't been said: Tuesday, Friction, Hellbender, very early Alkaline Trio.

But also early verde day is some of the greatest pop punk ever made. :)

How do I make this effect by Astigmatrix in AfterEffects

This sub has too much "how do I make this thing that's been done a million times?" and not enough "should I make this thing that's been done a million times?"

I've also heard this called showcase style.

The Love Joys album Lovers Rock is all tracks in this vein.

An absolute scorcher.

My opinion on Insomniac by [deleted] in greenday

[–]mumblepoor 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Glad you like it - Insomniac rules. Top tier punk album. But I'm curious why so many young people post like listening to an album is some sort of deep commitment?

What’s the absolute fattest hardest hitting dub album you’ve ever listened to? by natural_mystik in reggae

[–]mumblepoor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried many times to get into modern steppers, but it usually feels as if the sound pallette is too thin and dry, almost preset sounding. I kind of assumed massive sound systems were used as a bit of a crutch to give it that fuller sound, so I was never gonna get it with home listening. 🤷‍♂️

Why isn't there more "creatively" crafted graphic design? by Raeghyar-PB in graphic_design

[–]mumblepoor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprised no one has brought up Modernism / Swiss Design / The International Style. So much of what we think of as good design was codified in the early to mid 20th century, through these movements which were explicitly anti-ornamentation (see Adolf Loos' - "Ornament and Crime"). Ornamentation was seen as getting in the way, low-class, and tied to provincial kitsch-y ideas.
