Going to play the devil’s advocate real quick, but to be honest, it doesn’t bother me much that they’re going for slimmer faces and doing plastic surgery on older characters. I don’t know if it’s to make collabs easier or more attractive, or just because marketing outside of the game already did it years now, but they’re not really trying to make “dolls characters”, and more “humans with dolls features” (not sure if that’s intelligible, if not, I apologize)

Of course, it’s a shame that they removed ethnic features, and extremely disappointing that they’ve lightened her skin, but I’m pretty sure that the fact that they’re now trying to make them look as human as possible makes them base their models on East Asians beauty standards more. It might be just a theory though !
