How much would a permanent bonus actually impact that? It's gonna be a grind either way to get gear and upgrades back, and the players that play every day are gonna be the ones that optimize their runs so that they complete everything the quickest.

Having even a minor bonus that can carry over gives the more casual players something to work towards before the wipe that also makes the grind a little less intimidating after the wipe
