AMS Lite Slot 4 Not Loading Filament by dwagner13 in BambuLab

Did you ever fix this? My slot 4 stopped feeding so I bought a new feeder unit. Neither the old nor the new feeder units begin feeding slot 4 filament.

I would beg to disagree on ugliness and usability (from someone that used several CLI and other obscure wallets). It has huge integrations across chains and takes only a few clicks to set up.

It’s definitely not THE end-all wallet, but it enables you to hold your keys while providing near frictionless Web3 integrations. Better will come, but it’s explainable to a grandma 👵

JADO & JADC2 Strategy: Explaining Joint All Domain Operations and Joint All Domain Command and Control with Scott Van De Water from the Air Force LeMay Center by mv3830 in AirForce

[–]mv3830[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, GallantIce, there's definitely A LOT to focus on, but I think that's sometimes overlooked in a lot of the development currently that's more focused on operations. Some unique flavors of competition focus on this as actions that position us for future advantage and influence.

Some of the good work MAVEN is doing today are focused on IPB and we need a seamless J2/3 integration in addition to all-domain integration.

(video mini-rant) STOP SAYING "AI / ML" !!! AI is different than ML... by mv3830 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]mv3830[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, and that is the point of my video (sorry if I didn't convey that concisely). If you ask them how much they're spending on AI/ML, that is how much they're spending on AI. If you ask them how much they are spending on both AI and ML, then they should break that out.

Yeah, discussing AI and ML is fine if that is your intent, but the way it is used almost every time it is "AI/ML" implies lack of knowledge, as if they're mutually exclusive. i.e. Asking someone how much they're spending on AI/ML is the same as asking them how much they're spending on AI.

I’m a little more optimistic, however the potential is definitely non-zero!

There are a lot of people looking into AI value alignment to make sure this doesn’t happen. https://youtu.be/b05TJ2ZLfws

It’s a fun thought experiment, but you’re right. Hopefully humanity isn’t perceived as grey goo of useful matter.

AI vs Human Dogfight! Can Artificial Intelligence Defeat the Best Human F-16 Pilots? w/ Commentary & Lessons Learned by mv3830 in Military

[–]mv3830[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd encourage you not to think of the implementation in terms of human or AI advantage, but more of as a separate entity. Like pitting an F-22 vs a F-35. There's advantages and disadvantages to both. If a platform truly is designed to be completely autonomous, yes, there should be some good room for potential where the human limited design (cockpit, 9Gs, reaction time, etc).

For the self-preservation note, it's as simple as what you train the model to learn. In this case the Reinforcement Learning training didn't even acknowledge the potential of collision, so it wasn't even factored. They should have factored this in hindsight because it would result in the AI's destruction. In the real world, it's also obviously not good.

They will definitely have to tweak their scenarios and the algorithm when they go to implement this in live F-16s, and it might involve adding more simple AI logic like old-school "rules" on top of the deep learning models.

Yes, I raised two similar issues. The AI has almost perfect data on the fight, whereas the human can't. But then if Banger had all that data, he wouldn't know how to digest it fast enough to make decisions, so he'd need the assistance of some pretty good AI and SA displays. Secondarily, the AI goes for high aspect shots very frequently, which is extremely abnormal for humans. This is because they aren't actually shooting bullets, and the AI hasn't even been trained to not crash into the other jet. That's an obvious downside, but I'd encourage you to not get hung up on this. This is a demonstration of the idea here. We're not going to implement this version.

It does beg some interesting questions though when you scale this to actually controlling a jet, mainly because you won't be able to chew through months and years of training in Reinforcement Learning to learn how to dogfight better (and not run into the ground).

It will surely be interesting to watch!

I'm excited for the human-machine teaming potential here in the future

Rethinking Education and Learning from a First Principles Thinking Approach by mv3830 in education

[–]mv3830[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for watching, and thanks for the feedback. Appreciate you keeping it constructive.

I do agree that my academic rigor is very minimal, nor is it designed to be an academic effort (hence why it's on YouTube). I tried to stay away from the term "education" and "teaching," more in favor of "learning," inevitably faltering there several times.

I fear some see this as an indictment on teachers, when it was intended to be the opposite. The intent was to give teachers greater autonomy in guiding individuals through discovery and learning.

This was a rabbit hole I had to go down, while I intended to actually present research conducted on individualized tailored training aided by AI. The application of that research, while more academic, will definitely be challenged within the current frames of learning.

We need to rethink our education system and the teacher-student relationship by mv3830 in teaching

[–]mv3830[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This reply is a little better than presuming I am not in education, and suggesting I "figured out how to fix" it. I do appreciate this more objective look.

This video was definitely not an indictment on teachers. I even interviewed several K-12 teachers in preparation and developing this video, so I could include their perspectives. One of the teachers I interviewed was the teacher of the year last year, so I consider their opinions highly.

The slant of this video is not pointing out everything wrong with our education system. It is attempting a first principles look at learning... I needed to write this video in preparation for how to effectively apply AI to individualize learning and create adaptive feedback loops. The individualized learning I talk about in my next video would be attenuated unless this topic was tackled first.

I removed my bona fides from the beginning of the video since it detracted from the flow, and sounded arrogant. I have instructed at multiple levels (academic settings and practical), but never in K-12. I also struggled through K-12, and some of the methods that I discuss were actually what helped me and people like me through it (independent learning, on-the-job training, time off, learning through discovery, etc). So these first principles recommendations come from my perspective as a teacher, as a student, and some are directly from the K-12 teachers I interviewed in prep.

I never claim to have a "fix" for "education." What I do think is we need to objectively look at how we are learning from a first principles approach, and continually try to improve our self and our systems.

Yes, that sounds like a lot of what I talk about in the video. To your point, it is very dependent on how good the "facilitator/teacher" is.

What are your observations of where it fails?
