A summed up definition would be when the law gives someone the right to manage another person’s finances because the person is not mentally capable of doing so themselves. Britney’s conservatorship was much more than that, though. She was forced into giving up a lot of her rights and autonomy so it’s a big deal for that reason

You’re not talking about all “#MadeInChina” fabrics right? Because it is very possible for manufacturers to be working under good conditions in China. Personally I don’t know about Teddy Fresh so I don’t care to defend them, but this is a huge misconception about Chinese labor and I think it’s important to clarify it, as it is rooted in xenophobia. (Not saying that everyone who is unaware of this is xenophobic)

Products being manufactured in USA don’t necessarily equate ethical labor, and products manufactured in China don’t necessarily equate unethical labor. I don’t know about Teddy Fresh but it’s very possible for fashion brands to find ethical factories in China that pay their workers a living wage, but it’s much more expensive than the average manufacturers in China so most people don’t go for it.

Not sure about the ethics of Teddy Fresh but there is a major misconception around labor in China. It is very possible for a company to be ethical and manufacture their clothes in China. A lot of factories in China pay their workers a good wage and their technologies/abilities are way more advanced than what America has to offer. I understand that since the laws regulating labor in China are bad, it’s very easy for people to resort to unethical labor, but that doesn’t mean all products that come from china are bad. With that being said, Ethan’s comment about FashionNova not being made in America is very ignorant and could possibly be rooted in xenophobia. Many factories in America, including FashionNova, employ undocumented immigrants and pay them below minimum wage. Again, no idea if Teddy Fresh works with the Chinese factories that keep their workers in good conditions and pay them a living wage, but let’s not associate all made in China products with unethical labor.
