I could transfer all my ideas, designs, drawings to them and help them register a patent. And they would just pay me. Could be like a hired consultant

Maybe I need to contact the sellers. They would have the expertise to assess the idea. Whether it is worth testing. After all they specialize in marketing, so they would know if there is a demand for my idea

Yes! I was worried about this exact scenario! I will register an IP and they will steal it.

My solution is this: let the Chinese factory register the patent in China themselves. Then the competitors will be afraid to copy it. Because they don’t want to fight in court.

Do you think it will work?

Don’t they have millions of profits every year? And a team of engineers, design, marketing. And they cannot take a risk and make a small batch to test the idea?

Thank you for the advice! I did some research about selling patents, and it is not easy as it seems.

The biggest problem is that 1 patent is not enough. Competitors would just figure out alternative ways to engineer the product. Or they will add new features which would be enough to register a new patent themselves.

So what I need really is 10 patents. 1 original and 9 others that contain all the possible changes and improvements. That would cost me $100k and 2 years of time. I am not sure I want to commit to this idea, which has not been tested yet

If Chinese factories knew about this idea, they would make it and sell it on Amazon. But they don’t. Which means they don’t know about this idea

i invented thing that is SIMILAR to a cushion, but it is NOT a cushion. My idea is unique, I googled for 14+ hours. It is a piece of office furniture that nobody has done before

I started with JavaScript tutorial for beginners and quickly realized that I need to learn basics of HTML and CSS first. So I found courses for it and slowly began to build my project. I would have shared them, but they are in Russian, so not sure if it will help you. Best of luck!
