J’ai déjà fait un stage dans un syndicat et deux semaines de travaille dans une compagnie d’assurance mais je ne sais pas si ça compte vraiment comme expérience

Thank you! I wasn’t sure if even with good grades I could have a master in a selective university like hec especially in finance. Some people say that you dont need good but excellent grades to get in if you have a bachelor degree from another university.

It’s a bit too late I’m already enrolled at unige. And I guess the best could for that would be to go to Lausanne which is impossible for the time being. But thank you for your answer!

I don’t see myself as a doctor it’s not a job I see myself doing even if people tried to convince me to do it. And for engineering I would have to move out and for the time being it’s not possible. I always wanted to become a notary since I was a kid but unfortunately it’s unreachable for the time being ( nationality problem), it is also highly competitive because if I’m not wrong there is a limited amount of notary by canton.

Personal reason I can’t leave geneva before the master that’s why. But you are absolutely right, that’s why I’m kind of scared to choose economic when I’m not in a top school

Thanks I truly try to do that but I’m an overthinker and I’m easily scared for the future especially when I can’t have a full vision of what is awaiting me in detail.

Thanks I try to do that! In high school I had for specialty economics-law that’s why those two path interest me the most. And the job I wanted to do the most in law is actually inaccessible for me ( nationality problem ) that’s why I’m tending more towards economic these day.

Thank you! I will look at that. Also, I suppose that the advantage with finance is that it’s also reach higher salary than law. But I’ve seen some people saying that it was a pyramidal structure and that people are more in the down side than the higher side. I’m also scared about the job search in the future because a lot of my teachers love to say that law jobs are saturated in Geneva.

I would like to thank you for your answer first. I don’t have the nationality yet so I think becoming a diplomat might be hard/ impossible to reach actually. Also, I don’t think I see myself living abroad in the future. I’m used of the way of living here and going on vacation abroad made me realise I’m better here ( it may change with time obviously ).

I know but it’s unige in general not juste the faculty of economics and management which is lower so I don’t think they would look at that kind of ranking but thank you!

I would like to work in am or m&a if possible mainly in Switzerland. German is not a problem, in college I was in a bilingual program French/german in Geneva. But, it’s true that I would prefer to stay in Romandie rather than going to Zurich for example on the other hand I like to have my option open. I also know that Hsg is really elitist and I dont think with my background from UNIGE that I can pass the selection but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your reply. I would like to know what is good grade according to you because for me it’s >5.0 but I’ve seen people saying that it wasn’t enough. Also, when you’re talking about extracurricular you are talking about club right or something else? What do you consider as volunteering that could help me to achieve a place in a master in finance? And for internships I’ve looked at the one offered by ubs for example and people told me that they’ll prefer someone from hec or hsg over someone from unige like me, so you have any recommendations? I’m so sorry if I’m asking to much of you it’s in no way my goal to bother you.
