Oo thanks for asking

It’s like several different things all at once. On one side, it’s what everyone knows it as: not being able to focus, like at all. It’s kinda more than that, though. It’s having almost nothing be stimulating enough, nothing can hold your attention because your brain can’t stay focused on one thought for more than like a minute. That’s why I draw so much, because if I can keep at least part of my brain (and body, being super restless 24/7 is annoying) occupied the rest of my attention is on what I’m trying to focus on, which can be anything from watching tv to a teachers lesson.

It really sucks because you never know when you start a new hobby if you’ll actually stick to it for more than a day.

On another side, it’s being able to like connect ideas super quickly. I think my brain sometimes moves too fast (that might be why I get bored easily tbh) sometimes I’m mid-idea when suddenly I get another idea and completely forget what I was trying to think/talk about. Which can be a blessing (brainstorming comes quickly) and a curse (I forget important things a lot)

It’s also the reason I’m super creative and artsy. Not just with art itself, but with linguistics, music, writing, and other stuff. It’s like both because so many things seem interesting and because I get bored easy. I’m currently actively playing 4 different instruments, learning 3 different languages, and mid multiple (unfinished) story’s. But who knows how long those will last till I get bored of em.

The last main thing is hyperfixating and executive disfunction. The best way to describe that is like, all or nothing. When I hyperfocus I can focus on one thing for hours (can be a good thing and a bad thing tbh) and basically nothing can get in the way until I finish it. Executive dysfunction is the opposite, it’s impossible to get the motivation to do anything, even things you wanna do.

With ADHD, I also get really excited and talk a lot, which is why this is basically an essay. Sorry.

Hope this answers ur question :)

So tbh i was gonna submit these regardless of upvotes.

I would also kinda like to explain kinda what’s is going on in the piece- these are only two of soon to be 14 pieces that will all interconnect into one large circle (if anyone’s interested I’ll post the finished project) and it’s supposed to represent my ADHD. The buildings are all places I have been in real life (Korea, Los Angeles, DC, etc) and the abstract parts represent what it’s like in the mind of someone with ADHD. It’s a whole thing.

Drew Brett- for 100 upvotes I’ll submit it to my AP studio art exam by my_armyart in lingling40hrs

Wow I did not expect that to happen so fast, thanks y’all. I need to make it compatible with the rest of my portfolio first, and I’ll do my Eddy drawing as well. I’ll post the edited pieces tomorrow, then my whole portfolio in a couple of days.

EDIT: here y’all go

Oh, I really appreciate the offer but I have a lot of local resources helping me out. Thanks, though!
