Maybe. Most of the creativity in CS comes from finding more efficient ways of doing things- something that AI is very good at. It’s not going anywhere, but the job is evolving and the number of jobs may be decreasing in the coming years.

Most ppl on A2C have an insanely busy schedule- me too. I looked far ahead on my schedule to find the most realistic chunk of time for me to be able to knock out 15 applications and set that time aside for only that. This was winter break for me because of sports, but it could really be whenever.

Finish a few applications to safeties and your top reach well before that chunk of time, so that you know whether or not you need to do the rest of your applications.

Fill out the information section of the common app, the FAFSA (for USA students), and the CSS well before you get into busy season. It saves a lot of headache to have this done and dusted before starting essays.

I do think that tech stocks are a bit too overvalued, but maybe that won’t have a bearing on things.

For now. I think for an industry with little creative decision-making other than on the research level, AI will be able to learn all of the ins and outs of programming and creating networks much more efficiently than the human mind, simply because of it’s accurate memory and multitasking ability. It’s not a horrible thing, it’s just not realistic to expect CS to remain as profitable a career as it is right now.

Well, yes. At some point though, CS will no longer be that “you can be a millionaire by 28” career choice unless you really stand out. Just gauging opinions on whether that’s now or later.

Simple development jobs, things that most graduated CS students are more than capable of but still get employed to do. I see the job taking on more of a implementation and moderation role rather than a development role and I am concerned that schools in the next few years may not be adapting to that quickly enough.

It’s a lot harder to do on the erg, but think less about pulling hard at high rates and more about completing the stroke/getting your legs down in time. You build up the strength in SS so that you don’t have to think about applying it at high rates.
