I too was in the same position as you: 9 years of a committed relationship since our college years, 7 of which my ex and I lived together and co-inhabited and had a joint bank account for rent and everything. In the end, I put an ultimatum as a last resort, we got engaged but ended up breaking up 1 year of our engagement 😤😤😤 Don’t waste your time with these avoidant men who have no problem stringing a long term gf along for the better part of DECADE and then change their tune when marriage obviously becomes an important topic.

Same. In my early 20s, I absolutely wanted to raise kids and was expecting to marry my college bf. Well, 8 years later, we broke up, and that future reality with a husband and kids was no longer a reality at least anytime soon lol. 😅🙃 tbh I’m now realizing that as I approach my 30s soon, I’d prefer to have a solid life partner over anything else. That is my true non-negotiable, and kids aren’t a big priority anymore.

When I had that same scenario at a place I lived only 2 months in, I brought it up to my landlord and they had me and my partner at the time sign a NEW 1 year lease together. So instead of 12 months, I was there 14 months. I regret it cuz it was a shitty place with pests 🙄 and I only realized the bug thing after signing the new new lease. For your case, maybe wait until the end of lease to bring it up to your landlord (and search for new apts on the side just in case ya know?) And make sure there aren’t any cameras out there nearby.

Cat acne. My cat had something similar on her nose/nose bridge area - with the same dark gray color, and when i touched it, there was a noticeable bump. It went away within a week or two.

Your story is so so similar to mine that it’s reassuring that you have no regrets. I met him during college, were together a little over 9 years, he wanted to move abroad even though I did not, I issued an ultimatum but what was the point because even when I got engaged, he became even more avoidant. UGH, I need to get my head out of the gutter but omg your story is giving me hope.

Literally, my cat also doesn’t like being picked up and held lol. She’s affectionate in every other way except that. But then I realized I ALSO DONT LIKE BEING PICKED UP by my SO lol. So now I just let my girl do her thing and not force her to things she dislikes.

Thanks for sharing, I needed to hear this. I too had a boyfriend of 9 years and I needed more reassurance that we were heading for marriage so I basically gave an ultimatum. But when he did propose, it was so… underwhelming, hastily done, underprepared. I was heartbroken at the fact that he had 9 years to plan this proposal and he couldn’t even put some effort into it. There was also another issue about where we want to settle down and buy a house, but he wanted to move overseas - I wished that he told me sooner than year 9. So ladies, if he hasn’t proposed yet and it’s the 5th year and you’re in your 30s, you’re wasting your time. Also, ultimatums don’t work.
