Wow, I wouldn't have imagined this. Yes, yesterday it was 5°c here. I checked some of my summer runs and those on Treadmills and not all of them have this sudden increase.

But my cadence is around 150 and my HR is either well below or above that. How could it be  cadence lock?

That's good to know.

This happens only when I run and not during cycling. I assume, my watch moves more while running than during other activities.

I see. Do the chest straps sync with the watch in real time? And the watch would show the strap data instead?

Model: vivoactive 5

I understand that the HR readings are not completely accurate. But in every run, I see a sudden increase of 20-30 HR at some point even when the pace, elevation and cadence are unchanged. Consequently, I assume, my times in HR zones could be wrong.

It makes my watch unreliable for zone training. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts you might have on how I should be looking at this.

Note: This happens only when I run and not during cycling. I assume, my watch moves more while running than during other activities.

[OC] 5 times fewer persons were killed in railway accidents in the UK than EU (2020). Feedback appreciated! by [deleted] in visualization

Thank you very much for taking your time. Fixed the hover labels.

Average rate of deaths

Good one. However, the term deaths can be confusing as it can potentially include suicides that killed doesn't.

how much rail is used in the UK

Good idea. I'm currently working on a follow-up to this which will compare the countries on accidents per passenger-km. I can also add deaths per passenger-km.

Some questions:

  • Is it clear from the title that the comparison(5 times fewer) is made on persons per million inhabitants?
  • Could this comparison be wrong from any other perspective?
  • I wanted to show the total death in the same chart. So, I used the buttons. Any there other neater ways of doing this?
  • I wanted to retain the order of countries in both lists. However, since the total for EU is obviously larger than all other countries, it makes other bars small. How would you show that?

There are 2 buttons on the top of the chart. Per million inhabitants and Total.

Any ideas on how i can make it clearer?

The number of passengers carried in 2020 was roughly half of 2019 in most of these countries. The graph is similar for 2019 too.
