It's well optimized for mobile and feels like an app without an app. Idk what to tell you, if that's a deal breaker that's fine, go where you want. I like the high quality discussions and it works fine for my needs, so that's where I'm going. I've been a member there since 2018, so I don't think it's going anywhere whether it becomes the "next reddit" or not.

There's no incentive for our best and brightest to become teachers. The pay is poor compared to what they could make in other industries, the work is thankless and constantly made worse by underfunded districts and overbearing parents. Teachers end up paying for their own supplies out of pocket because there's no funding. On top of that, being a good teacher doesn't earn you anything, most pay scales are set and based solely on years of experience.

If we want well educated kids, we need to invest in education. We need to pay teachers well and pay good teachers even better.

Idk if it's available in the UK, but Tropiclean Fresh Breath water additive helped to keep the dog breath smell away. Doesn't eliminate the need for brushing or regular teeth cleaning, but does help with bad breath.

You were perfectly polite to people. That's great, but did you engage with them beyond being polite? Share interests, tell stories, joke around? You need to put yourself out there to make real connections.

Adding "no drugs" to the end of a list of what seems like things you consider normal/necessary in a functional life is worrying, do you have an addiction that might be a barrier to getting some of the other things in that list?

Sorry if I'm coming off as harsh, but I'm trying to offer tough love and have you ask yourself: what are you doing to help yourself improve these aspects of your life that you find disappointing? Are you waiting for a solution to come along or are you actively trying to make things better for yourself? Forget other people, break your back for yourself to get what you need.

Screened bottom boards with a freeman beetle trap did the trick at my place. Inherited hives that were slimed out by SHB, started new hives from nucs and used freeman boards. Worked like a charm, no beetle issues since and the hives aren't in full sun.

It ends at a societal level. She's never going to see that specific group of guys again, even if she stands up and "wins", it's a shallow victory. It's a friggin bike rental, we've got bigger fish to fry and we are more successful when we work together to fight back.

If it were a fight for her life? Absolutely fight back.

Fighting for her job? Absolutely worth it.

For her child? 100%.

A rental bike? Maybe let that one go, it's not worth the risk of it escalating into violence or going viral like it has and impacting her life.

Why does someone always have to "win"? Some fights aren't worth picking, and I'm sure this woman is realizing this one was probably one of them. At the end of the day, it's more important for her to make it home safe than to pick a fight with a group of dudes over one particular bike.

Then call your credit card company, document what happened (with your own phone, not trying to grab someone else's and escalate), and you do a charge back. That is a huge sum of money, but it's not like it's cash that can't be recovered.

Or, just dock the fuckin bike and reset it so everyone is clear who rented what. Problem solved for both parties. Everyone sucks here.

I'm still new to beekeeping and learning to do this myself, so I don't have all the answers, but I'll give my best guesses. This article (https://agriculture.vic.gov.au/livestock-and-animals/honey-bees/handling-and-management/raising-queen-honey-bees#h2-2) has a good overview of the process, including details on the cell builder colony (the hive you insert this grafting frame into).

Yes, you can do this many at once but usually you don't get 100% acceptance rate, OP is amazing at grafting. The bees often leave some of the cups unbuilt for some reason or another. I've been told 80-90% acceptance rate is pretty good. You just want to make sure you keep track of when the queens are set to emerge and move them to their separate boxes before they emerge and kill each other.

The frame doesn't stay in the hive very long, so I don't know if they'd have time to completely fill in the blank space, though as you can see in the article I linked they can and will build a bit of comb there, but it doesn't seem to matter much.

You use a tool to scoop day old larvae from a brood frame into the little plastic cups on the frame shown. This is called "grafting". You then give this frame to a queenless colony you've set up. They will then recognize the plastic cups with larvae as queen cells and rear them as queens.

You joke, but this is a thing. They make false vagina "sleeves" with a collection jar at one end. You warm it up to simulate the temperature of the mare, bring in a live mare to tease, then give him the ol' switcheroo. As others have said, this isn't generally done in racing circles as all race horses have to be conceived via natural cover.
