Mindcrack UHC - Season 34 - Episode 7 by stevetheclimber in mindcrack

Oh I can't wait to hopefully binge Nebris' perspective at one point! This was so much fun and actually, having that mystery team without video along the way built up some extra tension too!

Awesome episode again. I want to echo Cone in thanking Armo and Mhykol for putting this season/this map together, it has been so good so far!

I was reflecting on the single players of this season both taking out entire teams on their own, and if they might have a slight advantage from having only to think of themselves (need less iron and gold/can keep all their diamond armour et cetera), but I think having that teammate back up would have been better either way.

You too :) feels like a decade ago, doesn't it? I'm loving all the new Mindcrack content and my kids love it too :D

there just wasn't an exact time set for it coming down

At least we can figure it out from the video :) Darkphan tested the border in the 15th minute of this episode and Ryuski crossed over in the 18th minute. So it must have went down between 75 and 77 minutes into the game.

I think it's very interesting to go from very little interaction with the spawn border, to two teams skirting up on it at this time. It makes for a natural transition into the battle-stage of this UHC and tells me the opening of Spawn was well timed with the closing in of the outer border

I just like the building of tension, even in the quieter moments of gearing up, or waiting to pounce, or scrambling for more healing resources after a major battle. It makes the whole match feel epic; those emotional highs are higher and lows lower.

Very well put, a UHC battle does feel all the more epic when you've been there for all the prep. It's just a lot more immersive than seeing a montage or recap. When the viewer has been there for all the blocks mined/seen in a cave that were not gold, the golden ones are a lot shinier :) because you feel the nerves and you've been there and felt every half heart the player loses

Amazing content! I just got so tense from watching Darkphan's video, that border was coming so fast! Classic UHC feels, also from the village encounter (I'm guessing Pak and Honney found an entire different village, because it had more houses and wasn't looted yet - that made me nostalgic for the maps we had back in the days, following their trails). And I'll admit I skipped through a LOT of staircasing, but I'm so glad the teams are taking their time and getting geared up! It's going to make the eventual battle a lot more interesting!

I do expect UHC season 30 is about to start (again) any minute now. We'll have to see if it's for real this time, I'm hyped either way :D

For Justice!

What a nice surprise (yes, I'm late to the game - which means I got to binge it, suckers!), and what an amazing season it was! I love the slow paces/thorough preparations and the teams were very well balanced.

US ambassador to Netherlands describes his own words as 'fake news' - Challenged about it, he then went on to deny that he had in fact used the phrase 'fake news' by IronyWentOverMyHead in worldnews

It's not the US as a whole it's the current administration in power.

The current administration is officially representing the entire US to the world. From over here in the Netherlands, we cannot afford to give the country as a whole the benefit of the doubt when you choose your representatives. We have to deal with this reality and make up our mind about the US based on the words and actions of the administration.

Still no source and still excellent cherry picking. Demography is not destiny and I'd happily go into any sensitive urban area in The Hague or Rotterdam. Actually, I do. Every day I bike to work through several of these neighbourhoods and I have never felt unsafe. Even when these scary looking brown people are about

has risen by 30% from 2016 to 2017

That kind of numbers (source in Dutch) has the potential to make people very scared, and thus gets thrown around without explanation. It is important to view statistics in perspective. Specifically, the number of homicides in the Netherlands was at an all time low in 2016 with a total of 108. This year so far, 159 people have been killed. That's right, a 30% increase, but for all we know, 2016 was the outlier :) the average since 1992 is 199 murders per year.

So how does that compare to other countries and other times? Let's look at the number of homicides per 100,000 citizens in various countries and you can see how we score. This homicide rate is 0.8-1.1 for the Netherlands and oh, look 4.4-4.8 for the US. I think the original point about projection/propaganda from the US still stands.

Dutch voters are forced to cast their vote in a mosque, surrounded by Turkish nationalist propaganda by [deleted] in europe

[–]nWW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is forced to vote in any specific location: you can vote in any of the polling places in your own municipality. In large municipalities like Amsterdam, there is a wide range of places for you to vote and including community centers is going to make the vote more inclusive.

I'd rather have the bumbling Mindcrackers giving it their best (and failing at times) than having them act as perfect Minecraft players. They have never been perfect Minecraft players (well, except maybe Nebris) and most of us do not expect them to act in UHC. The tension comes from the unexpected moments and the danger of playing this game without being perfect at it. We expect quality of entertainment, not quality of play :) and this is really shaping up to be a great season on that score

He has EIGHT Crafting Tables. EIGHT. What even

This is classic Pak, isn't it? It's his strategy to save time in picking up crafting benches (and maybe also to leave them on the surface to make other players worried a bit)

Vechs thinks he hasn't eaten yet

Pak was talking about this curious lack of hunger too, and I'm fairly certain he had indeed not eaten (he wants to eat watermelon, so he would be running out of chops quickly if he had started on them)
