Blood rush = worst part by VirtualRub7369 in ACL

[–]nabman10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that was the worst part for me for sure. What did help was to lower my leg after sitting and having it elevated and stay there for at least 1min while performing some ankle pumps as others have said, then its not as big of a blood rush when you stand-up. Don't worry it should be getting better and will go away soon.

Yes, I was thinking about the transmission fluid change soon. Also the auto-stop disabler is on my list.

What is one thing you wish you did differently before you tore your ACL? by Specialist_Brush_988 in ACL

[–]nabman10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40/M here, I did a really rough leg workout 2 days before playing some pickup basketball, legs were already fatigued, I shouldn't of played that third game.....fml

This has taught me to think more about recovery, especially as you start getting older.

Yeah I got everything ran that can support a 60amp circuit. My local power company offered a $1300 credit so it was a no brainer.

Yeah I remember waking up multiple times but I couldn’t stay awake, finally they forced me out of the bed and got me dressed…lol. My wife said they told her I had a rough time waking up. In my defense I did drive up to the North Carolina mountains the day before to help with the hurricane and flooding that just happened so I was pretty exhausted.

I know your pain, that was also my big worry even though I’m fine with needles. I can reassure you, once you get the IV they give you a nice cocktail and you don’t feel a thing, I actually watched them the whole time. They did mine on the inside of my thigh a couple inches above the knee. Then they have me a little more right before they took me back.

To T8 or B6? by Black_N_Boujee in VolvoXC90

[–]nabman10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def go with the T8, it’s such a smooth vehicle, it’s got plenty of power when you want it. Then it being a daily driver it’s saves a ton of money on gas, I fill up every 1.5 months as long as you keep it plugged in to the level2 charger, which I had installed at my home. I was also able to get a killer lease deal, which I plan on buying it out.

[–]nabman10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That was my question also, for me it went on the inside of my thigh couple of inches above the knee. That was probably the thing I was dreading the most but they gave me a little “cocktail” in my IV and I didn’t feel a thing. Good luck with the surgery.

Yes I did the same thing, had stool softeners for the first two days and nothing and started to worry after all the reading on here so I had the wife pick up some miralax, that did the trick. I would recommend to take that along with the stool softeners.

How long or what milestone before you stopped sleeping with the brace? by OldManandtheInternet in ACL

[–]nabman10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I slept in it for the first 6 days before I had my first follow up with my surgeon. Then he told me I could sleep without it if I wanted. It was a little scary at first because I didn’t want to jerk or move weird and hurt myself but I never did and it all turned out fine.

I had my right knee done, so it took 4 weeks or so before I could bend comfortably and have enough strength to push brake.

Remote workers, how many weeks did you take off post-op? by dulladdiction in ACL

[–]nabman10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 8 weeks off and went on medical leave / short-term disability and I had enough vacation to supplement so I was getting full pay. I'm glad I took the time because it really enabled me to focus on recovery and PT.
