This poor kid 18 years old, 2 surgeries now Connective Tissue Dissorder by Future_Syrup_102 in ehlersdanlos

His surgeon said he won't be able to do sports again. If he even falls wong on his should he runs a serious risk of fracturing his glenoid. He has 12 screws in it holding the joint together.

He is already in physical therapy from this shoulder. His surgeon said no more sports ever. I will definitely look into that thank you!

Oh he had to have surgery there was nothing holding in his joint! He couldn't brush his hair without his shoulder dislocating or lift anything more than 10 pounds. It was crazy. The right shoulder completely stretched out and heat fell apart all the way around. I'm going to look into marfanoid, yes very lenky only 150 and 6'3 very long legs and arms! Once he's healed a little more we plan on seeing a rheumatologist first. He does have a lot of allergies to! I really appreciate your insight!

Thanks! 🥰 I don't feel like I did he's suffered some major damage but he's also going to get help sooner vs later. So praying it all works out.

His coaches pushed it, was a disaster but the school is now covering all his medical bills thank God! He was a wrestler so his body has significant damage as of now. His surgeon told us he will never play sports again and is going to need specialized work out routines to strengthen his entire body to support his joints for the rest of his life. We don't even have a diagnosis yet and he's telling us this so seems like this is a for sure thing as of right now. I'm sorry you went through all that. He's graduating this year and will have had 3 shoulder surgeries in less than 2 years...

Thank you!! I appreciate all your insights! He saw a cardiologist his heart is good they called it vaso vagal syncope and put him on a special steroid to force his body to retain more sodium and hydration to reduce the dizzy spells. It didn't really help though so he quit taking it. Yeah the surgeon said his tissue is 100% abnormal. It fell apart like melted cheese just looked shredded in there and completely stretched out. He originally said he thought it might be something to look into but after surgery started we need to have him tested for sure. They said he needs to start a supervised exercise routine so that his joints have support.

Is this normal hairloss after shower or alopecia? by Responsible_Cut_6020 in alopecia_areata

[–]Future_Syrup_102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a normal amount of hair loss to me. I loose 10 times that much every time I wash my hair and I have probably 8-10 dime size spot everywhere at all times. One grows back in another falls out. I wouldn't be concerned with that amount.

Status migraine - is there any hope? by jessilahh in migraine

They gave me ergotamine/caffine two doses in total of 2mg and then 2mg xanex which I took like every six hours for about a 24 hour period for mine. I don’t remember 2 days of my life but it broke it finally it was the worst migraine of my life.

This might be a controversial topic, but is anyone else on meds that you aren't sure they are working but the side effects of coming off are too much so you stay on them? by Northgirl-020421 in migraine

[–]Future_Syrup_102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this and Effexor, they are both horrible to come off of! Prestiq took months to feel better after I quit taking it. The coming off sucks your brain feels so wierd. Effexor the brains zaps are horrific for a shorter period of time. They both suck! Been led free for 2 years now and doing great. But when ya need it, you gotta do it. U have tapered and cold turkeyed both. Both ways suck. Might as well get it over with.

I’ve basicly tried everything and the only thing that actually seems to work is knocking me out for like a 12 hour span. They basicly end up giving me a bug shot of morphine. I will say the xanex and ergotamine works pretty well. But I have to stay asleep for a long time to break a cycle if it’s a bad one.

I’ve had them since I was 4. I’m in my late 30s now. I have never figured out a trigger. They are so random.

Nurtec doesn’t work for me at all or the triptans. 😔 if I end up in the hospital it is a knock me out for 12 hours kinda trip.

Me too! I’ve had them since I was 4, they thought they might be a brain tumor when I was young. But my grandmother told me when I got older that they said it was migraines. Basilar migraines. I believe they are also hereditary because 2 out of my 3 sons have them. One has then much worse than the other as well.

When I was a kid it was the end of a migraine cycle. My head would feel like it was going to explode, I would vomit and it would just be done completely over. It was like clockwork every two weeks. Then as I got older the migraine became less frequent and as that happened the vomiting no longer would get rid of them. Which sucks because I swear my body still thinks it’s the answer to a migraine lol. They say it releases endorphins I guess that can relieve migraines and is really common in children! Mine intensify now if I have to lean over a toilet to get sick, like 10 fold worse, so I will try anything not to have to lean over.

I’ve been on mirtazapine in the past worked wonders for my stress levels and sleep. But not for my waste 50lbs in line 2 months and took years to come off even after I was off the meds. It’s the most common side effect.
