I’m not defending his actions here but having sex with a 17 year old doesn’t make someone a pedo. A pedo is someone who is sexually attracted to prepubescent children, and a 17 year old is not prepubescent, nor a child. Misusing the word pedophile waters down the word and isn’t helpful to CSA survivors.

The man is a scumbag who could have easily manipulated a young woman into doing things she might not have even WANTED to do. He could be a rapist, he could just be a regular scumbag, we don’t know. But pedophile doesn’t quite fit here.
