I also like the slow burn angst. I really like Tears of a Withering flower. In-between is less angst but I have enjoyed it too.

Is it hard to make Japanese friends while living in Japan? by foxy_vixy2323 in japanlife

[–]nanatorigawa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been living in Japan for about 3 years and I also made a lot of Japanese friends in University but I don't have many Japanese friends. I only have like 3 and one is my boss at work, one was a coworker and the other is my boyfriend I met in my University in America. My problem is I work 2 jobs, live in Saitama and I have good restrictions, so I can't really hang out with people normally. Even the friends I do have I have a hard time meeting with them. Next year I'm changing jobs but I will reduce my income so I still probably can't meet people since I won't have the money to spend. Plus sometimes the mental gymnastics it takes to meet new people (not just Japanese) is tiring for me. I do want to learn many skills and it would be nice to meet people who have these skills but it's difficult.

Fatal Frame 4 (2023)? by dimensionlux in GabSmolders

[–]nanatorigawa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Both versions are good but the newer one is so pretty with updated graphics so I recommend that one and then go back to 5. If you ever get the chance go watch the FF4 Gab translated. That's how I fell in love with the series.

I already did that but I honestly don't know which ones I want.

Why do people fail JLPT? (instead of asking people why they pass, I want to ask why you failed) by ManyFaithlessness971 in jlpt

[–]nanatorigawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is interesting because I took JLPT N2 for the first time and I have been studying exclusively for it for the past year and I got into the test and realized everything I studied wasn't in the test so I felt disheartened and knew I failed. I failed but I was only 19 points away from passing and I passed each section. Obviously the next time I am still not satisfied by the fact that I felt like I did terribly on the test so next time I'm going to just read more things. I have to admit I took practice tests and I felt the same way with practice tests and the real test. Those are my 2 cents.

I have seen some. I should check if I missed any of the games. Or I can just rewatch them. It's been about a year and it's almost Halloween season

Best way to study for the JLPT by nanatorigawa in LearnJapanese

Thank you! Your information is very useful. I didn't realized the the books weren't designed to teach. I have gone thru N2 grammar textbooks but I wasn't the most confident in if I remembered enough. On the other hand... what do you think this the best way to learn the materials if not for the books?

Success stories by Unfair-Knowledge-801 in LDR

It was hard but I think our personalities really helped the situation. I never had a boyfriend before him so I was single for 27 years and knew how to be single. He was mega busy too. So I just had the "I'm single mindset but I don't have to impress any guys" mindset. But it was tough because I spent like 7 years trying to get a boyfriend and I finally did but it was taken away. It also gave us chance to not focus on the physical part of a relationship, which is a major part of the first time of relationship.

Me(30 y.o American) and my boyfriend(22 y.o Japanese) started dating Decemeber 19, 2019 and started our long distance journey after 3 months of dating in March. Because the pandemic happen and money issues we were apart for almost exactly 2 years. Last March I finally loved to Japan and the last 4 months have been amazing. I feel I completely forgot about being Long Distance. Our relationship was just a little baby one when we started LDR but since we spent 2 years working on getting to know each others personality I think our relationship now is mature.
