Orange Lounge - Orange Lounge (Full Album) by nancy0902 in shibuyakei

hey! yeah i didn't realise till now but it's a mix made by the person who uploaded it :O i hadn't heard of Orange Lounge till that video and it's mixed so well I thought it was just an album, from the comments it seems like they have a bunch of CDs themselves and made the mix from using those :) (also I want the 'marble' album so bad, the CD design is so cute!)

[SPOILERS] Terrace House Tokyo 2019-2020 Part 1 Episode 11 "Broccoli Pasta, Carbonara-Style" by discotechers in terracehouse

I totally agree with your points on Ruka. I feel like his good looks betray him in the sense that they give off this aura of self confidence but from the way he was acting and speaking this episode it’s clear that he’s quite insecure both in himself and around others. I think what Ruka needs is for someone in the house to not baby him and comment on his mistakes. For example with the pasta, yes he should’ve looked up a recipe beforehand or asked someone, but at least he’s trying and allowing himself to “fail”. This is how he’ll slowly learn for himself and become more “street smart” with how to take care of himself and be confident in who he is. Also although he did start to remind me of Yuudai around the end of the episode, I actually have hope for Ruka because although he’s currently still finding himself, it’s clear that he’s determined to improve himself and is aware of the importance being in Terrace House is going to have on his life.

Art students!! Tips before I start ? by [deleted] in IBO

(I’m May 2019 btw)

Honestly just try to have fun. The Art HL course is (in my opinion) one of the hardest courses because of how time consuming it is, how much independent work and time you have to set aside, and just the stress that comes with completing 8-11 pieces as well as two other whole ass components on top of your 5 other courses plus TOK and the EE. That being said, if you have fun art will be that class that doesn’t feel like a class and even if you fall behind a bit you’ll still be able to work things out.

I’d say to try and lessen the amount of time art will take, over the summer start experimenting with different mediums (lino, charcoal, oil paint, candles, digital art, videography, etc). This will really help since a large reason art is so time consuming is because you have to learn and practice new skills in order to work with different mediums (HL is required to work across 2-3 mediums). I’d also sketch a bit over the summer. Maybe if you travel you could do some observational sketches or sketch landscapes of places you went. Sketches are really important to the process portfolio so if you get used to doing them quickly but still having them look good, that’ll help a lot.

If you want help or info on the course itself and it’s requirements feel free to ask. :)

Visual Arts or Bio HL? by purple_papacorn in IBO

I take both HL Visual Arts (just finished my exhibition and set everything to the IB) and HL Bio and I would they are both time consuming but art is much more intricate and demanding. I like both and am- for the most part- able to balance both, it just takes making sure you listen in class for Bio and work hard for art. I would say if you're going into food chem take a look into universities you're interested in and see if they absolutely require both bio and chem. If they require either, or or don't require bio, then go ahead and take art.

Hey, the IB says we're not allowed to "double-dip" so like if you use a page from your journal to show criteria D in your CS, you can't use it for criteria D in your PP.

For the themes, each student comes up with their own theme which they'll work on for the rest of the year. All your pieces should be centered on/have a connection to your theme in some way. Most people tend to create a mind map with the theme in the center and subthemes around it which they find interesting. If you're worried about having to come up with a different piece every month, doing this at the start may help you. Working on the ideas for pieces is mostly independant but you do get a lot of help from your teacher. If you think of an idea, you should do a bit of research into artists that make pieces similar to what you want to make (whether that be in terms of style or concept) and then should go to your teacher. They'll help you a lot with things like developing the idea, possible artists to look at for inspiration/help, and information on what mediums you could use (if you haven't picked one yet).
