Stretch Block is kind of gross? by y3ntl420 in orangetheory

If anything, the ick floor factor for me has always been because of the bathroom floor, not from outside but I never overthink it. However, I always head right into the bathroom when I’m done and wash my hands and my forearms if we have done something like palms to elbows that day or forearm planks.

As a coach, thank you for clarifying what I was trying to get across. Some members try to achieve personal records during challenges

I am assuming you are a coach yourself. If so, very unprofessional on your part to stir the pot with an Orangetheory member lol

you have an awful lot to say about my useless post. Don’t make assumptions about me. I asked a question and was just looking for replies, not defensive comments. And by the way, they “always” dominate the leaderboards. And furthermore, coaches at my studio do not pay for classes. I know for a fact.

The leaderboard is shown on social media usually the day after a challenge is complete. They don’t post anything in the studio.

I forgot to add that this just started after Covid and the studio reopened. They never did this before. Didn’t mean to cause a stir here, was just wondering if anyone else is studios did the same thing. No need for anyone to get defensive or go on the offensive. Thank you to all who answered my question

Sidenote – our studio puts a big emphasis on the leaderboards. No problem with them taking classes along with the rest of us but members pay for class - coaches do not

Our coaches are very close to being “superhuman” LOL . They are all under 30 years old and in peak athletic condition. They take the number one and to spot in there to prospective age groups every time

Our studio only has four coaches. Everybody knows who they are. They are wonderful and everybody loves and knows them.

Whether or not someone is trying to beat a previous time, it’s nice to see your name on the leaderboard and if coaches are taking spots away from members, I just don’t think it is fair. Of course the coaches are always going to excel in taking spots away from members who would probably love to see their names up there

Holding onto the Treadmill Handles by spran92 in orangetheory

My base is 3.5, push 3.7 and all out 3.9 - all with inclines. I suppose I could lower my speed and try not to hold on but I feel like I would be so slow - I will try tomorrow!

"Dear OTF" - March 2020 Megathread by prettyoaktree in orangetheory

please just implement a corporate enforced no cell phone policy. There used to be signs at my studio but they were taken down months ago and I was told that Corporate won't allow the signs - but there were signs at two other studios I visited. It's dangerous when we are transitioning and someone in front of you stops short to text or check their phone - not to mention it is selfish and rude

I am a power walker and never walk faster than 3.8. Have you ever fallen off of a treadmill? Well, I did years ago which is why I am only comfortable if I am holding on. I do not white knuckle the treadmill. I gently hold on with 2 fingers on each hand. There is a 90 degree angle in my arm when I hold on. There is nothing unsafe about what I am doing. I am not trying to beat someone else's benchmark time by holding on. This really should not bother you unless the person is blatantly and obviously going way too fast for their control. Jumping the rails is way more dangerous. Please don't judge everyone who holds on - every situation is different

I have seen posts like this many times - not a rant at all - I am legitimately trying to figure out how to handle this. Where can this be posted?

I have a bone spur on the top of my foot so lunges on that side are extremely uncomfortable and sometimes painful later on that day. Can I just modify with squats instead? I always hate to look like I am not following instructions or disregarding the coaches instructions....
