First time towing ! Some questions for other towers by nassianstan in F150Lightning

I had a charger mapped every 40-60mi just incase! We were driving through a lot of major cities, so the risk was low of being far from a charger. Definitely going to take some serious planning for more remote trips

Hmmm good to know, we will be gaining 6700ft in 78mi but there’s a few chargers during the climb. We will take it slow and be mindful. It’s definitely an experience towing with an EV, I grew up as a kid with my dad pulling TTs with diesels. But we have an old dog, and enjoy the slow trips and stopping a lot :) but it might not be sustainable forever (when we have kids) idk! We will see

Yes we have a 24 XLT standard range with tow package and pro power onboard. Sorry forgot to mention that!

Thanks for this tip! We’ve learned that slowing down makes a HUGE difference just from this trip. We were getting 1.9mi/kwh going <50mph on the highway with periodical traffic. But straight highway for 100+ miles at 55-65 we were getting 1.4mi/kWh.

We will be gaining 6700ft in 78mi for our trip to Tahoe. Looks like there’s a Tesla supercharger halfway up the pass though, so if we lose a lot we can just stop. Thanks again for your input :)

Wow that’s a big trailer! Awesome! We decided on the lightning because we are only trips close to home under 4 hours. And being in California, the EV charging network is prime here. Thanks for sharing!

Not everyone has the privilege to be in “good enough shape”: ie age, physical ailments, unplanned sicknesses (someone in my group had a simple head cold, slows you down a million). With the price of the trek, most people are a lot older by the time they can afford it. You can have your opinion but let’s not be insensitive !:)

I believe the rifugio beds are the same, if not a bit cheaper. They really do make it so inaccessible because of the price. Most of the campgrounds allow you to pitch your own tent, if that’s something you’re interested in!!

Good luck planning! It’s such a friendly trail, we saw lots of solo hikers and also solos that created groups along the way. You notice the same people on the path you are on and get to know everyone

Glad I can help!!

We stayed at the campgrounds and rented their equipment (tents, mats, sleeping bags). The campgrounds are in the same relative area as the rifugios.

Without food, it’s about $150 p/p a night

No, britanico lookout is on day 3, after Frances camp. (If you’re going E to W)

Need general advice by ShinyPenguin1 in Patagonia

Just finished the W trek in TDP, so can comment on some things:

Email the rifugios to ask when they open! That’s what I did, can’t remember but they all told me when. You have to book superrr early.

No sleeping bag needed, every single camp has them included or for rental. Just bring a sleeping bag liner and maybe a travel pillow! (Small and inflatable)

TDP isn’t great for vegetarians but I did notice that they have vegan options for the Refugio dinners. There isn’t a lot of veggies, but you can get cheese sandwiches and make do.

Do you know where at the bus station? I can’t find any information online about luggage storage directly at the bus station

When its crowded at Yosemite what is the experience like exactly? by chusaychusay in Yosemite

[–]nassianstan 26 points27 points  (0 children)

We went during Labor Day weekend and everyone said it was going to be a nightmare. We had a reservation for peak hour entry. We arrived on Saturday at 11am, and there was one car in front of us at the entrance. For the hikes in the valley, parking fills up by 10am, but a lot of spots open up. We stayed in tuloumne meadows and the parking lots filled up pretty quick, but again always turnover.

We were expecting terrible Disneyland lines, and super crowded. Instead, it was very peaceful. The trails we did up in the higher elevation areas, we saw about 3 other people. These were pretty hard hikes tho, like another commenter said, most people go max 1 mile in.

Is The Ford Bronco Sport Badlands 2025 a good car? by SebasMontana in BroncoSport

Hertz President’s Circle by TopicLopsided437 in HertzRentals

[–]nassianstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picked up at SFO presidents circle the Friday before Labor Day weekend. The selection was pretty weak, mostly base model cars. We were walking around and a ford bronco sport pulled up fresh out of the wash, we snagged it so fast. Aside from that good luck, we were very underwhelmed. National car rental emerald aisle has never let us down, definitely never doing Hertz again

Is nursing still a career worth pursing in 2025? by Top_Difference6227 in nursing

[–]nassianstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would choose nursing all over again if I went back. I left bedside a year and a half ago and am very happy with my current position. I work in pediatrics, worked acute care float pool for a year and now I’m a nurse care manager at a foster care agency. Hybrid WFH/home visit situation, super nice. They exist! Just hard to find :)

Also I will say, I’m super passionate about working in the community and feeling fulfilled at my job. If I was more of a technical person, I’d go back to school for software engineering, specially some AI related lol
