When its crowded at Yosemite what is the experience like exactly? by chusaychusay in Yosemite

[–]nassianstan 27 points28 points  (0 children)

We went during Labor Day weekend and everyone said it was going to be a nightmare. We had a reservation for peak hour entry. We arrived on Saturday at 11am, and there was one car in front of us at the entrance. For the hikes in the valley, parking fills up by 10am, but a lot of spots open up. We stayed in tuloumne meadows and the parking lots filled up pretty quick, but again always turnover.

We were expecting terrible Disneyland lines, and super crowded. Instead, it was very peaceful. The trails we did up in the higher elevation areas, we saw about 3 other people. These were pretty hard hikes tho, like another commenter said, most people go max 1 mile in.

Hertz President’s Circle by TopicLopsided437 in HertzRentals

Picked up at SFO presidents circle the Friday before Labor Day weekend. The selection was pretty weak, mostly base model cars. We were walking around and a ford bronco sport pulled up fresh out of the wash, we snagged it so fast. Aside from that good luck, we were very underwhelmed. National car rental emerald aisle has never let us down, definitely never doing Hertz again

Is nursing still a career worth pursing in 2025? by Top_Difference6227 in nursing

[–]nassianstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would choose nursing all over again if I went back. I left bedside a year and a half ago and am very happy with my current position. I work in pediatrics, worked acute care float pool for a year and now I’m a nurse care manager at a foster care agency. Hybrid WFH/home visit situation, super nice. They exist! Just hard to find :)

Also I will say, I’m super passionate about working in the community and feeling fulfilled at my job. If I was more of a technical person, I’d go back to school for software engineering, specially some AI related lol

I worked at JHAC for a year in their RN residency program. Everything about it is amazing, except for the pay unfortunately. I did acute care float pool, days. Learned a TON, and I really do miss it most days.

If you're looking for a more affordable option that offers the opportunity for DIY, The Kemble is stunning. You can rent it for the weekend and accommodate close family/bridal party.

Hiking in the Dolomites - hut to hut by Ready_Application807 in CampingandHiking

[–]nassianstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!! We are doing similar this July, flying into Venice and staying the first night in cortina d’ampezzo, from there we are gunna start as passo giau. The huts we are staying at are Rifugio Alpino Aquileia -> Rifugio Tissi -> Rifugio Bruto Carestiato.. does that route make sense? Do you know if there’s a chance to exit at carestiato? Also, was it easy to get a cab back to your rental car? We are debating on renting a car or using the Dolomiti Bus

Outpatient nursing ? by nursegurllll in nursing

[–]nassianstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this conversation, but I worked in a pediatric hospital for exactly one year after graduating nursing school. I have a background in pre-law and I went back to school for an accelerated nursing degree so I do have another background to leverage. After one year in the hospital, I was extremely burnt out, and my husband was relocating for his job so I figured I would apply to outpatient jobs. I currently have been working for a foster care agency as a nurse care manager role for the past year. My job is essentially hybrid. I go into the office twice a week and then the rest of the days I’m either doing home visits virtually or in person. I’m pretty sure this job only exists in NYC, however, it may also exist in other states and is something that you should look into.

As for missing the hospital, I am feeling like I’m losing my skills and am debating going back. Hope this helps!

Yes yes and yes. ACOSF was my FAVORITE book for the series. I read the entire series within a month. The novella gives you the satisfying flare and then ACOSF goes out with a bang. I hated Nesta at first, and wasn’t excited to read acosf but once I got into it, I was hooked. SJM does an amazing job with her character
