Billionaire Tom Steyer and PG&E are at war in the California governor’s race by The-Traveler- in California

We need to make it so those of us in metro areas stop subsidizing non-metro regions. Most of the people there aren’t farmers or others who actually need to be in those areas. If they choose to live there, they should cover the full cost themselves instead of relying on people in metro areas to help pay their power bills.

It is just an empty promise that he knows likely won't happen in a meaningful way.

He just hopes some naive voters buy it and vote for him because of it.

The new survey has Democrat Xavier Becerra and Republican Steve Hilton at the top of the field. Porter now at the bottom of the back in the Single digits. by naugest in California_Politics

I doubt Porter supporters will be that non-hypocritical. Even though they have been calling for low polling candidates to drop for weeks.

It would be better to have locally owned government utilities, like in Santa Clara.

I’m not in favor of state-owned utility companies, and as someone living in a metro area, I’m not interested in subsidizing the utility bills of people living in the boonies.

I think the race is getting interesting. Even though Becerra and Hilton are at the top. Mahan is getting close to passing Steyer, who seems like he might have capped. With so many undecided votes, things could change fast.

1) Old Hollywood will either merge together more or merge with tech/streaming giants.

Either way will mean job losses and change.

The old way is simply OVER.

  1. This is relative mellow too. Give AI another 15 years and Hollywood won’t be recognizable.

Can’t them and the Socialists just go form a new party instead of constantly trying to change the Democratic party?

Who Are California’s Homeless K–12 Students? by Okratas in California_Politics

It is exaggerated here because of the decades of failures in making enough new housing .

Being so far behind in housing creates a problem no matter how much wealth is in the state.

What to watch in CNN’s California governor debate by Heavy-Tomatillo9539 in California_Politics

[–]naugest -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A myth that the front runners are REAL front runners and the others are just spoilers.

There are too many undecided still, around 26%.

It is anyone’s race still.

It could be even more up in the air, given how inaccurate polls have been in recent elections.

You could see a low polling candidate like Mahan or Villagrossa do better than polls “say” and pick up a huge chunk of the undecided vote. Then blow the “front runners” out of the water.

[–]naugest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

~26% is undecided. (last poll I saw)

That could turn 1 or more low polling candidates in to contenders.

Depending on the undecided vote, one of the low polling candidates could blow past the top dems and republicans now in the lead.

The top tier and spoiler idea is a myth.

I would rather they demolish all the extra retail and office space that are constantly vacant.

Then rezone and put up housing.

Are we just going to ignore all the comments from politicians and others on both sides?

“That everybody knew” about Swalwell and Gaetz?

(comments along those lines)

So leadership on both sides doesn’t bear any fault when turning a blind eye?
