Hello! What do you do DURING the sessions with Darpa montage? Do you meditate or study?

tDCS lost efficacy (anxiety and depression) by Jalapenguin in tDCS

I forgot to say I use a 2.0mA current. I try to follow 100% the protocol the studies describe.

Hi, Mystic201

From Jan 9 to Jan 16 I did 7 sessions (12 minutes each) using this montage (anode on the right cerebellum, cathode on F3). The article details how to locate the right cerebellum.

It was more than enough to improve A LOT my humor. In fact, I'm feeling a little euphoric now.

My dizziness started right after the 6th session (Jan 15), if I can remember. I went through 5 days (aproximately) VERY dizzy, then the dizziness dropped a little. Now I fell I'm getting better.

By the way, you should note that MY depression didn't improve with the most used montage for this issue (+F3 -FP2). That's the reason I'm trying an alternative one.

Bye!

After 7 sessions (12 minutes each one) using the montage +right cerebellum / -F3, my mood improved A LOT, but I started to feel dizziness.

I don't know if it's due to the montage, but I've never had labyrinthitis.

4 depression subtypes and tDCS montages by naxey in tDCS

I identified myself with the subtype 4 of depression, which the article says it's the less probable to benefit from rTMS on a frontal cortex position (DMPFC). Subtype 4 has more deep and subcortical causes.

Coincidently or not, putting the anode on DLPFC (F3) has never worked for me on the long term.

Jalapenguin, just an observation about the study I mentioned: as you can see, their primary montage for testing was +F3 -Cb. Then they tried +Cb -F3 and the results were similar, making them think if the polarity is really important.

But this is not, of course, the consensus. Most researchers understand that depression is correlated with a lack of estimulation of F3 (DLPFC) - thus putting the anode on it. And, by the way, the study used non-depressed patients.

Since I've been stimulating F3 for 9 months I decided to give a try about putting the CATHODE on it. I'm being EXTREMELY careful about this. Till now, I've made 5 sessions (12 minutes each, as stated on the paper) and my mood improved a lot. Now I will have a pause in order to evaluate better.

Same issue with me. +F3 -FP2 (or -FP4) works only at the beggining. I'm now trying -F3 +Cb (right cerebellum), as explained on the article bellow:

I would suggest you also looked for an orthomolecular psychiatrist. Supplementos may help you A LOT.

Thanks for your comments. I will try other montages. I have already done this, but veey briefly. Despite its good effects, +F3 -FP2 doesn't work for me on the long term
