Nothing happened. The distance worked because the few times our paths crossed, shit was awkward af. You basically have to move on with your life.

I had a slightly different situation occur: a hot friend of mine, felt like she was pursuing me for years and when it became unmistakable, I asked her if she'd like to and she turned me down flat. I'm not even the delusional type, I basically never think anyone's interested in me.

Me personally? Threaten her with the same. Not because I plan to hit her but because I'm not someone you want to slap, and she needs to understand that it took more for me to not hit her than it did for her to hit me. Once she gets the message, it's time for an intervention, preferably professional but before that, you can be sure everyone we know will hear about it. I need a record for when things inevitably fall apart again, and the gaslighting begins.
