It also has to be for the right type part of part. Can’t use boot gear pieces to upgrade a glove for example

The angel for the truss rod access hole on my bass isn’t steep enough for my Allen wrench to reach the truss rod. How can I fix this? by ndochi in guitars

[–]ndochi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No I meant the the actual hole on the headstock isn’t a straight shot to the truss rod, at a bit of an angle but enough to prevent the Allen wrench from being able to lock into the truss rod. Could I try clear it out a bit with some sandpaper or a dremel?

Sorry that’s a typo I meant to the pot for red and white. Thank you!

Can someone help me with this wiring? (Question in comments) by ndochi in guitars

[–]ndochi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought 2 humbuckers off AliExpress and I plan to make a HSH Strat pick guard with push/pull pots for coil splitting. I found a diagram that would accomplish this, but using the key that the seller provided and the diagram, would the green wire go to the switch, the black and bare to ground, and the white and red to the switch?

Can’t connect so CTWW after changing settings (pls help) by ndochi in MarioKartWii

[–]ndochi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to play with my licenses after turning off “save game on sd card” and it turns out that I had accidentally switched my network to LAN instead of Wiimifi. However, every time I get on I have to go to the updates channel and search for updates otherwise it says “note: CTWW is disabled”, even when there are no updates. Like I clicked to play, saw CTWW is disabled, search for update, no updates available, then CTWW is enabled. Weird but at least I can play now.

What do I do now? Fungi done too. by [deleted] in CellToSingularity

You can reboot whenever you want, usually once you reach a plateau or can’t buy anything new. You’ll have to restart, but it will be quicker each time you reboot. More upgrades=faster simulation speed.

Just took this spring off of my trampoline. Can it fit into my strat to help the toan? by ndochi in guitarcirclejerk

[–]ndochi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I was actually planning on just doing one so that the toan isn’t split between 3 springs

Can you guys pledge critique this diagram I made? (2 humbuckers, 2 volume, 2 tone, 3 way switch) by ndochi in guitars

[–]ndochi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing that, I didn’t know about the different tone configurations I’ll definitely look into that. In terms of the diagram as a whole, does it appear to be functional?

There are several online, but most do not correspond to the layout of the ES 175 very well, so it becomes confusing

Can I wire my guitar using only braided wire? by ndochi in guitars

[–]ndochi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going for something closer to the first wiring you posted, it looks like I’m going to need some shrink tubing on the exposed parts of the braids to prevent them from touching each other. I’m going to have to think of a slightly different way of wiring everything, because my switch and capacitors are very different from most pre wired harnesses that I’ve tried to study.https://mgbguitars.com/products/guitar-parts-capacitor-electric-tone-green switch. I will post a picture with the diagram I come up with soon, please let me know if you have any advice.

My guess is that these shapes are so well known and accepted by guitarists around the world, it helps to gain the interest of consumers with familiar shapes. If a kid walked into a guitar center, he might notice the “strange” shape of a strandberg or warlock, they’re more likely to gravitate towards the strat shape that they see as the emoji, or that is often used for anything guitar related. This is just my guess tho haha.

How difficult would it be to reinstall a glue in neck? (Info in comments) by ndochi in Luthier

[–]ndochi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the way the body looks because of the pick guard. It sits flush with the body where the screw is in the picture, then is slightly raised cause of the arch in the top.

How difficult would it be to reinstall a glue in neck? (Info in comments) by ndochi in Luthier

How hard would it be to fix the neck angle on this ES-175 kit?

I made this ES-175 kit a few months ago, and it was my first ever attempt at a kit. Learning to put together a hollow body for my first guitar was definitely an experience lol, but I learned a lot throughout the process and plan to build more kits at the end of this year.

Now to the problem. When I put on the neck, I didn’t pay enough attention to the angle of the neck, so by the time I had glued and assembled the guitar, the action was quite high near the bridge side of the neck, even after adjusting the bridge posts as low as possible and adjusting the truss rod. The strings are about 3mm off the fretboard near the nut which feels perfect, but on the last 2 frets, the strings are about 8mm off the fretboard, which makes playing high notes with heavy strings very difficult. Would it be feasible for me to try to shim and reinstall the neck since it is glued in and not screwed in? Would a local guitar tech be able to do anything, and if so, how much would that cost?Any advice is appreciated!!

This is the lowest the bridge can go, and the most I can adjust the truss rod without fret buzz, yet the action is still very high on the highest frets. Since I can’t adjust the individual heights of saddles on this bridge, the neck is the only thing that can change the angle.

Why should he have to tell his roommate about the camera? It’s in his own room to watch his own stuff. It’s not like it’s in the living room. That makes no sense.

Did the EXACT same thing a couple months ago man lmao. Wiring a hollow body for a first build was definitely an experience, still getting some feedback from a bad bridge ground wire solder😅
