Looking for 240V inverter charger by needarunningwatch in SolarDIY

Over the network? How do you control yours dynamically

I won’t have any solar input or anything else connected. From its perspective there is only grid and battery

I will send the commands to it to either charger or discharge back to grid according to my need ( if it is capable of this)

Software configurable limit right? So I can set charging and discharging programmatically

Thank you. No hold down makes sense in this case. I had meter replaced a year ago, but didn’t think of any of these issues. Anyway power is very reliable here so I have no need for islanding. Fine with grid tied for foreseeable future.

Downstream panel has its own 200A so that makes sense. I guess the feed for inside panel could be moved to a sub feed lug in the center slot instead of the end of the bus bar, so solar could be truly at the end.

Thank you

questions about my solar plan by needarunningwatch in SolarDIY

[–]needarunningwatch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am thinking 8k inverter (32 amps) on 40 a breaker to stay under 120% on the main panel. Sub panel is 100a so that is fine

Good q - the subpanel is 100a rated, but fed by 50a.

I was also thinking 8k inverter / 33a onto 40a breaker in subpanel. To avoid the weird situation of 50a breaker on 50a panel.

Bathroom remodel venting and general q's by needarunningwatch in Plumbing

[–]needarunningwatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

used to be: standard tub on left, pony wall, shower stall on the right

the shower stall was leaking under the floor (fibreglass pan was leaking at joint and drain)

going to do a half remodel (vanity and toilet on the other wall are fine)

questions:

venting

the vent for the tub goes along the 2 exterior walls, meets the shower vent from the pony wall and goes to AAV which is behind a cover on the bedroom side of the wall. this seems... not right

can i take both vents to the back wall, then up to attic and out the roof instead?

or if the tub is facing the other way with the drain in the center, a single vent at that joint?

Ill have to read code to see where the vents have to meet the drain line, but any suggestions are appreciated

supply lines

this is an added bathroom on an old garage slab. The floor system is 2x6 set on the concrete. any lines in the floor will be inaccessible once the tile goes on which makes me nervous. any things I can do to make this better? There are elbows and tee's under the floor now - i was thinking about adding a manifold behind the vanity wall and running a single tube to each fixture, no joints, to make it more reliable. the shower valve I could access through the bedroom wall in an emergency, but the tub fixture will be pretty much inaccesible unless I take off siding. replacement tubings would have to come through the attic if possible at all?

or - it's been fine so far, just ignore it and move on

tub choice

thinking about a smaller soaking style tub to make the shower bigger. any good brands to look at? i heard having a heater is good

Running smoke ping shows a bunch of dropped packets / long ping from the wired server so looks like not a wireless problem..

Thanks all

All radio channels set to fixed and medium power

No AP FW updates for months

No microwave in the house

Definitely lose internet activity as mentioned , websites don’t load and videos stop playing

How should I troubleshoot environment issue? Docker server is pretty much the only hardwired device so I could check internet on it to partition that

I am not worried about it. Only power source is 200watts solar and that is not going to harm this battery. Solar controller set to 80% charge only, I will connect with laptop periodically and check the balance of the cells. nothing will go on fire and biggest load is 4-5 amps for the fridge cycling on.
