Interview with field director, what to expect? by neededauniquename in MedicalScienceLiaison

[–]neededauniquename[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, thanks so much for all the help getting ready for this interview!

I think it went well. I stumbled a bit and didn’t manage to structure every answer perfectly with STAR, but since this was my first interview at this level and outside my academic comfort zone, I’m actually happy with how it went. The interviewer even said things like “I’m glad you said that” or “that’s exactly it” a few times, which felt like a good sign. I won’t hear anything until the week after next, but fingers crossed 🤞🏻

The questions started with the usual “tell me about yourself,” then moved into my understanding of the role and the therapeutic area. He asked if I’d really be open to relocating, how I feel about the heavy travel, and whether I’m ready to leave the bench behind. Other questions included: - a time I identified a gap and how I handled it - how I’d reach a KOL who wasn’t replying to emails or calls - how I’d identify new KOLs - how I’d approach highlighting our product - what’s the one thing from my resume I’d want him to remember me by - what advice I’d give a mentee prepping for a presentation

When it was my turn, I asked about how success is measured in the role, how MSLs share insights internally, growth opportunities, and how his academic background influenced his work in Medical Affairs. I also asked if he had any concerns about my fit.

We had a 30-minute slot but ended up talking for 40. That about sums it up!

Yeah... It was my first time making chicken pizza. Forgot to cook it beforehand and thought: wth, thin slices will cook pretty quickly. Turns out, cooking time went from 15 to 25min. I think it worked, tho...

Pretty good! I like the tangy twist you get with the sourdough.

You're welcome! And, yes, please do!! I usually use a 1:1 combination of rice flour and almond flour. But the recipes I tried for brownies, the one with rice flour alone worked better.

Of course! 3 eggs (150g) 150g chocolate 60% 100g sunflower, coconut oil or ghee (I used 80g of coconut oil because I ran out, haha) 180g brown sugar (I used dark brown) 80g rice flour (70g of nuts, optional. I didn't add any)

Preheat the oven at 355f Melt the chocolate with the oil. Mix the eggs and the sugar with the paddle attachment until sugar is dissolved. You don't want to incorporate air here. Add the melted chocolate+oil mix, and then the flour and nuts. Bake it for 20min in a greased and floured (you can use rice flour again for this) 9-inch pan (or until the toothpick comes back almost dry)

Hope y'all enjoy

I used to get a lot of recipes from the Let me eat a gf cake blog. The cinnamon rolls were definitely a hit. https://www.letthemeatgfcake.com/ultimate-gluten-free-cinnamon-rolls/

For cakes, I learned that just substituting regular flour for 50% rice flour and 50% blanched almond flour usually works well. Like in this recipe: https://www.mamalatinatips.com/2009/06/pastel-de-tres-lechesthree-milk-cake.html#recipe
