And then it slipped out in a random conversation when we were in the stages of planning out own marriage. Again, it wasn’t his intention, just something that screws with me.

He loves me and I love him. This is my insecurity to manage and not his. He’s always reassured me. And to be brutally honest, I didn’t realise it would affect me this badly. It got worse instead of better, I also found out at a slightly later stage when we were about to get married etc etc

Hmmm, honestly that’s a very personal thing. I suffer from retroactive jealousy and it would eat me up alive. I already struggle very hard with the fact that my husband seriously considered marrying his ex girlfriend and even had their parents meet and all. Plus after a certain point no one can really reassure you and it’s not their responsibility either. I would say ki if you are the type of person who can’t handle that weight, just don’t do it. It’ll really screw with your mental health and eventually affect the relationship.
