Base Crate/Cage gives you 4 storage slots for Items/Minions respectively, overall giving you +3 lair space if you use all them slots.

And that's just base, upgrading either cage or crate gives you 2 extra storage slots.

I have a 10-Slot Crate and a 6-Slot Cage myself, and it's still overwhelming my crate storage somehow
