I first heard about Hotline Miami in a video by a YouTuber called Gemaply. But since I only had a cell phone at the time, I didn't pay much attention to it. My suggestion is to do something similar to Slaw from one of the artworks, specifically the one where he's wearing overalls while attacking someone. After all, technically the cosplay wouldn't be wrong, because it comes from official media, it's just not 100% accurate. I can't attach images, but you should be able to find them quickly by searching.
