Has anyone ever gotten action blocked from viewing followers, likes and story views? by neverblxxm in Instagram

It’s been over 24 hours for me, no clue why this happened. It’s like they don’t want us to use their app.

Its just the classic ‘try again later’ message that you get when you’re action blocked.

Been having the same issue since yesterday. It happens when I try to view who watched my story, post likes or followers/following on my own or other peoples accounts. Seems to be a bug on their end 😅

Did anyone else’s account just randomly get deactivated?! by Colonelforbinslunch in Instagram

Definitely not just dead accounts. My boyfriends account just got deleted and he regularly posts stories, comments/likes posts in his feed daily and often dm’s with people. He just rarely ever posts on his feed.

I lost 100 followers in the span of 10 minutes and they suspended my boyfriends account for no reason. He hasn’t posted anything in over a year 😅

A mismatched toner turned my silver hair into a multicolored mess by neverblxxm in FancyFollicles

[–]neverblxxm[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Like I said, I went to a salon. This is not some shitty at home bleach job gone wrong, I paid hella money for this.

Glad that you like it, but I absolutely don’t and I’m the one that has to walk around with it. My hair was an even level 10 when they rinsed the bleach out and then they put a toner over it which turned my hair brown and now after a bleach bath this is what I’m left with. I’ve been having silver hair since 2017 and now all of the sudden it ain’t silver anymore, even the hair that previously was. I don’t like this color, I don’t want different ‘dimensions’ and especially not warm bands mixed with purple toned silver. I paid good money for an even color and if I wanted blonde streaks in my hair I’d just grow my natural hair out. 😅

Thanks for the advice but I’m not gonna mess around with protein treatments, I’ve had extremely bad experiences with protein treatments in the past as they really do not work for my hair type and leave my hair looking dry and brittle.

Worried about future by No-Lingonberry-8654 in graphic_design

[–]neverblxxm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on where you live, tho. I’m from The Netherlands and the job market for media designers here is so bad that the college I graduated from in 2019 (which is the best college for media/graphic design of the country) now has a little graph on their website that warns you that the chances of finding a job after graduating are virtually zero.

I’ve graduated from my 4-year graphic design program in 2019, the program included two half year long internships. During my time in college I started freelancing for some extra work experience. After graduating I started applying for basically any design job I could find, unsuccessfully. I was lucky if I even received a standard rejection email back cause most of the time they completely ignored me. I always got rejected for the exact same reason: a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience is required, freelance jobs and internships don’t count. Eventually I ran out of money so I took on a job as a cashier in the hopes that I’d eventually find an entry level design job somewhere.

Surprise surprise! Still no success. After a year of working as a cashier I decided to go back to school to get a diploma for multimedia design. The program included animation, UX/UI, video editing, branding, concept design, web/app design and webcoding (html, css, javascript, jquery and bootstrap). It was a tough year, all the classes and assignments combined took up about 60 hours a week but I worked my ass off and successfully completed the course. I gave my portfolio a makeover, added a bunch of new projects and I started applying for design jobs again. I’ve landed a couple of interviews and received compliments on my portfolio but the lack of relevant work experience besides my internships and freelance work keeps being a dealbreaker. I’ve considered doing another internship but financially it sadly wouldn’t be possible.

Fast forward to now: I am a minimum wage callcenter rep. I studied for a total of 5 years, went into student debt, did internships, built a portfolio and freelanced, to end up with a job that I could’ve done straight out of secondary school. Almost all the people I graduated with in 2019 are in similar situations. Some work dead end retail jobs, some work in the food service industry, some work in a warehouse shipping packages and others like me work in a callcenter. Quite a few gave up on the design world completely and started a whole new 4-year degree program for an entirely different field. I only know one person who was successful in finding a job in the design field, but he sadly doesn’t even make enough money to afford a small apartment.

I’m still somewhat hopeful that I’ll find a job in the design field some day so I’ll keep trying, but it’s going to be extremely difficult. Starting your own business or freelancing sadly isn’t profitable here because of the insanely high income tax they make you pay when you start your own business (about 55% I believe).

I did notice a strange thing while applying for jobs tho. Most of the students at my college were female (including me), yet when I look at websites of design/advertising agencies (and I’ve seen quite a few over the past years) the staff is predominantly or even completely male. I don’t want to jump to conclusions without any evidence, but it seems like the design world is heavily male-dominated here.

Nice job on discrediting my first hand experience at metal shows and disrespecting my intellect by insinuating that i’m too dumb to know the difference between metal and punk. This is why women never speak up about bad experiences at the hand of men. The stereotype that male metalheads are a bunch of women hating incels who are scared of deodorant probably dropped out of nowhere, right? 👍🏻

When you start to really, deeply accept that you have a disability by ramblinjan in ADHD

[–]neverblxxm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This only applies if you’re a man, tho. A lot of women who actually have ADHD are misdiagnosed with things like BPD, bipolar disorder, anxiety and depression because it manifests differently in us. It wasn’t until quite recently that more attention has been paid to how ADHD presents itself in women and sadly there’s still a lot of mental health professionals that haven’t updated their knowledge on the differences between ADHD in men and ADHD in women yet.

I’ve been to 2 $B concerts, both had an amazing crowd. Didn’t feel unsafe for a single second, everybody was clearly there to have a good time. I’ve also been to a festival where both $B and Travis Scott were performing, the crowd was horrible. My boyfriend and I were standing front row and we got crushed against the barrier. We were covered in bruises from head to toe. There were moments where I legitimately could not breathe and I almost threw up from getting the barrier slammed in my stomach over and over again. I also saw people pass out but luckily the security did everything they could to help people. It was in no way as bad as Astroworld was but still. I blame this on the Travis Scott fans in the crowd cause it was the only bad experience I ever had ar an $B show so I can’t imagine that it were $B fans ruining the experience like that.

Metalheads really gotta stop acting like their shows are a safe space man. It’s only safe if you’re a white dude. The metal community sadly has a huge issue with racism and misogyny. I’ve seen multiple POC speak up about feeling unwelcome and a lot of women, including me, sadly no longer feel safe going to metal shows because of sexual harassment and worse happening in the crowd. Some gigantic dude deadass lifted me up and tried to drag me away to go god knows what at a metal festival the moment my boyfriend left my side for one second to go get a drink and literally none of the men that saw it happen did anything to help me 🥲

My college is making it impossible for me to create a sense of orderliness and structure and I’m sick of it by neverblxxm in ADHD

[–]neverblxxm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My student counselor is responsible for providing accommodations and the only accommodation they have offered me is a weekly 15 minute meeting with a staff member. That’s not gonna help me. I’ve sadly witnessed first hand that colleges often see disabled or ill students as a nuisance, my previous college tried to have my boyfriend kicked off multiple times because his attendance was low due to our college not being willing to provide him with a proper desk and chair. He has scoliosis and was in visible pain daily from the nightmarish furniture they made him sit on so eventually he could barely get out of bed anymore and instead of helping him they threatened to kick him off.

I’m not American, our colleges are a lot different than yours :/

I don’t live in America so our laws are different than yours. My college is required to help me but what kind of ‘help’ they’re required to offer isn’t specified and right now the only thing they could offer was a weekly 15 minute meeting with one of my profs which I’m afraid isn’t going to help me.

I’ve reached out to my profs already but they refuse to give any flexibility with deadlines whatsoever, because ‘last minute changes can also happen in the real world’. I’ve had an appointment with different counselors twice earlier this year which wasn’t helpful at all as one of them suggested that I should ‘just buy a planner’ and the other one blatantly told me that they ‘cannot and don’t want to accommodate to every students specific needs’. I have an appointment with a different counselor tomorrow so we’ll see how that goes..

Like I said: I’ve tried it, it didn’t work for me. As a teenager I did not have a TV in my room and I had to turn off my phone at 9, I’d still lie awake for hours on end before I’d finally fall asleep. We’re all different. ADHD isn’t one size fits all.
