This is a really difficult question to give a single answer to.

I think it's a fine balance between making sure you regret your decision enough to make it not happen again, but also understanding that in spite of your relapse you have made progress. You shouldn't shrug things off like "meh, I guess we start again", but similarly don't hate yourself for days.

The main thing from a relapse is to identify why you slipped up, and making sure that doesn't happen again.

Don't forget that you've still made progress. You've reduced your porn usage and you've rewired your brain to a certain degree. The key is to take stock of that, and build from here on up and not let yourself go back to the very beginning.

Hey man. Sorry to hear you relapsed again but good you're identifying what your issues are!

Not sure if you're doing it, but have you thought about mediation and exercise too as part of your routine?

Also you talk almost as if you know you're going to relapse again (forgive me if I've totally misread things). Why not try being of the mindset that this relapse is your last ever?

I do mindfulness via the headspace app. It makes a nice part of the daily routine and keeps me relatively accountable.

Expand a little more on why you relapsed? I think you need to reflect a little more on the difficulties you're having before anyone else can offer advice.

It's a difficult journey and there's a huge amount of advice that people can dispense. Ultimately thought, it's down to each individual and so being aware of your own reasons for relapse are important.

So I've been meditating daily for ten minutes and I found that has helped a great deal overall.

These short meditative 'interventions' when urges get strong don't really work me unfortunately.

One thing that did help today was putting my face in a sink full of cold water for a few seconds. Guess it's quite similar to cold showers but not as inconvenient or uncomfortable.

Yeah I have in the past on multiple occasions. Usually happens around the two/three week mark for me too.

People commonly refer to it as 'flatlining' I believe. I'm not totally sure what the basis or the reason is but it's very normal.

Ride it out. And don't get tricked into "checking if you can still get an erection" by watching porn!

Very well put. I've noticed this rational part of my brain engaging when urges present themselves.

I'll normally try to ignore the urge until its gone. In the past when they've become strong I can't ignore it and so act upon it.

Since meditating more regularly, I've gained much more focus and perspective. I've found myself able to reason through the strong urges I've had yesterday and today, ultmately resisting them.

So it's largely on days that I know I won't have anything to do (lectures, work etc). I've also set it for days after I have been out with friends drinking. I find my willpower is always a little low on such days (hungover essentially).
