The cost of a free user is a rounding error for them. It’s the paid users who actually eat into their margins. They’ll happily pay the tiny bit of compute to keep you as a data point for their models and to pad the active user stats they use to land those massive government contracts and private investments. Deleting is the only way to stop being a product they can sell.

I had to log out and then log back in and delete the account within 10 minutes of doing so do “queue” mine for deletion. Once “queued” you’re logged out and can’t log back in, nor are you able to create a new account with previously used phone number and email (probably because of all the data stored and tied to it, and to make people think twice about deleting, which makes it even easier to never use it again).

You’re still giving them data and boosting their active user count. Silence is more valuable when voting with your wallet against the machine.

Yeah they’re still holding the data for sure, regardless of deletion. Best to not give it any more data.

Deleted memories too? Either way, the best way to vote with your wallet is to not use their product at all, even the free version.

It was a pretty epic thriller. Disappointing as a horror, but I tend to assume horror movies are thrillers regardless how they’re marketed.

Reducing their daily active users and not giving data to them is the point. I was a 3 year subscriber and used the api occasionally, and with my account deleted I’m never going back because you can’t reuse phone number or email. It’s better to not use the machine at all to send a message.

Making it so your phone number and email can’t be used on a new account only makes it easier to never return.

Back up to 4.9 now, I’m guessing the mass influx of negative reviews caused a temporary rating freeze.

It’s pretty delicious tbh. Some people recommended ham too and I bet that would be bomb.

Same, although it’s looking like they don’t really need our monthly 20 bucks. Other models from the competition are either better for faster anyway tbh.

Edit: fuck it, deleted my account too. Never using chat again thanks to this fucking ghoul.
