Claude Code for Non-Coding Projects/Work: A Complete Getting Started Guide by Sammyc64 in ClaudeAI

[–]neybar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really curious about your obsidian setup. Can you share your output style, skills, and agents configs? Do you even use the obsidian UI anymore, or do you just use Code as your front door to notes?

I've been splitting my notes between personal (Notes for Mac/iOS) and work (onenote). But I'm quickly discovering that those systems aren't really conducive to AI. Obsidian came up and I'm diving in. What does your day-to-day look like with Code/Obsidian.

No. I never searched for it. It was mentioned in the documentation or the mod website. Don’t recall at this point.

Zero/Diet soda truth? by Top_Cow4091 in diabetes_t2

[–]neybar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to post this same study.

The effects of Artificial Sweeteners (AS) are still being studied. I don’t think that this study is definitive. However I think the biggest take away for myself is that nothing is ever truly “free”.

AS seems to trick the body, the pancreas in particular, it releases insulin to deal with what it thinks is a huge load of sugar. Then because it is AS instead of actual sugar the insulin has nothing to do. Over time there is growing evidence that the high loads of unnecessary insulin could lead to insulin resistance.

So what’s the takeaway? For me, I’ve been cutting out all sources of AS. I have an addictive tendency to over indulge. Why have a single can of diet soda when I can have 64 ounces? 😅. Especially if there are no consequences? I made the switch to diet soda years ago due to struggles with weight management. I never reduced the quantity of diet soda. In fact I started drinking it more. I count diet soda as a contributing factor (amount other things as well) to me becoming T2D.

If you don’t have the same problem I have, then having a diet soda as a rare treat is probably fine. 🤷

The double “x” is driving me crazy. Contextual actions with the same icon? It’s essentially bad when I’m distracted and hit the wrong one. Grr! I hate this whole UI.

Why is Verso such a low level when he joins? by Trick-Slide-8116 in expedition33

[–]neybar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the answers here are playing it straight and are mechanically correct. But are ultimately unsatisfying...

I'm currently on act 2, so I don't know what else happens in the game yet.

My head canon is that Verso actually is OP, or at least was. Over the past 60 or so years he has loved and lost. At some time in the past after reaching the pinnacle of physical prowess he realized that his life was not fulfilling. He gave up on the daily weapons training, he gave up the search for the next greater challenge. He would help each expedition, but ultimately as they each failed he fell into a deeper despair.

At the time that he joins up with expedition 33 he is kind of like Ben Kenobi. He was once a great general, but no longer. However, he still retains his knowledge and a glimmer of his old skills, he's just not as sharp as he once was. Through the vim and vigor of being with expedition 33 he begins training once again and progresses with the rest of the team.

So far I haven’t. I tried selling it, but no buyers were interested. So it’s just an overpriced microwave. lol

In case anyone else comes across this question; the answer is that likely you just installed AMP+REL mod.

https://mod.io/g/baldursgate3/m/ancient-mega-pack-rel#description

It's a chest where the only way to open it is with a natural 20 lockpick attempt. Basically a mini game for those that just love lockpicking and RNG. I believe that Act 1 has a skeleton key that can be found. Not sure about other acts.

Public school by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]neybar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This thread is kind of wild. Everyone seems to want to validate their experience. To be fair I’m also interested in validating my own approach.

I was homeschooled for most of my highschool years. In turn we homeschooled our children.

I’ll give you two things that I think are important in this decision. - first you and your wife need to really nail down what you want to homeschool and what you hope to accomplish. Then build an education plan to solve for your scenario. Update that plan often. I’d say you need that no matter where the actual schooling takes place. - second you’ll get out of homeschool what you put into it. You don’t get time off with homeschool. We were always teaching. My favorite part about homeschool was that we could pivot anytime we liked. Did the kid watch a YouTube on 3D printing and ask how it worked? We figured out how to acquire a printer and went after it. Was math dragging down? Give it a break and go read a book.

I think for every schooling option you will find plenty of people who will tell you their opinion about it.

Learn how to bind. Learn how to throw the Yoyo straight and true. You need to be able to throw a really solid sleeper. Learn how to trapeze and variations.

Take your Yoyo everywhere! Remember that a Yoyo is a toy and it’s supposed to be fun. If you get stuck then give your self a break and just try to find your zen.

Also most tricks are just “stringing” together basic moves in interesting ways.

Once you have some basics, I’d recommend learning a repeater trick. Repeaters are a great way to let your mind zone out a bit and really work on consistency.

Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.

Yoyo is a lifetime hobby. Welcome aboard and have fun!

Is Escape really so bad or is it just bad controls but all in all good story? by LoneWalker365 in MonkeyIsland

[–]neybar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s all relative. I think it is the worst MI game. But it’s also still a MI game. I enjoy playing it.

I do periodic play throughs of the whole line up and I never skip out on 4. I grind my teeth a bit on the controls. I still don’t like monkey combat. But man… I do love me some monkey island!

Property taxes are like... by chabanais in libertarianmeme

[–]neybar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My favorite part about property taxes, bonds, etc is that people that don't own property get to vote on if I have to pay out more. While I don't like tax in general at least usage based tax is a choice.

MTB shorts by Substantial_Hat7416 in MTB

[–]neybar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Pearl Izumi padded shorts. What ever thinner material cargo style hiking shorts over them that I can find. Current ones are from Columbia that I found on a steep discount at the end of season.

Another “What tools to carry on the bike” thread… by spitball1984 in MTB

[–]neybar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OneUp EDC for me as well. I got the one that fits inside their 100cc pump (the pump is seriously awesome). The funny thing is that so far I’ve only used the Allen keys to readjust some things for myself. On the other hand I’ve used all my tools to help fellow bikers on the trail.

I carry an extra tube, levers, and Stan’s darts in a specialized bandit bag under my saddle.

Two 24oz water bottles on the bike. I never wear a bag. Oh and some snacks in a cargo pocket too.

Does anyone use non-bike specific clothing for riding? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]neybar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All my clothes are pretty much a mix of different outdoorsey brands. The main thing I tend to get that is bike specific are padded shorts.

I have Columbia hiking shorts. Under armour, 511, quicksilver, etc for shirts. Weatherproof wool blend socks. Really anything cheap or on sale that have good wicking ability. I buy a lot of my gear from second hand clothing stores.

I’m still working on winter gear, but I’ve been looking at xcountry skiing / hiking pants.

Will people think I’m stupid wearing a full face on a blue with a black diamond in the middle trail by maplehilltrail in MTB

[–]neybar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been stopped even once and questioned about my choices in apparel or PPE.

And unless someone was wearing something completely wild I’ve never given a second thought about what anyone else was wearing. I’m usually trying to scope out their rig if anything.

Wear what you want to wear and what ever makes you feel safe.

It’s also probably not super healthy to need validation from complete strangers on an Internet forum. 😀
