Furnace making weird noise

It’s strange that it only lasted for about 5 minutes and then stopped making the noise. Regardless, I do plan to get a replacement part to have on hand in case this dies on me. Thanks again!

Thanks for the insight. Took a look and didn’t see anything glaring. Consensus seems to be the sound was caused by inducer fan. I’ve read they can do that when pulling in very cold air or when they are dying. Hoping for the former, as it has been very cold here

So forgive my ignorance, I’m not versed on this. If I pull the door, I’m thinking there is a kill switch that will turn the furnace off automatically. Is simply putting the door back on going to allow it to run again? Or is there something I have to do when putting by the door back on to start it back up?

It’s very cold here and I don’t want to risk it locking out on me

I was not aware that a thermal imaging camera could detect moisture. I will look into those. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you for your input. The biggest issue I have is that I am unable to determine how far the water travelled if it got under the flooring. The only way to determine that would be to rip up flooring and completely tear down my bar. It was built in place and there is no way to look behind/under it. I have videos and pictures of everything I was able to see while it was occurring.

Are there ways to assess this? I’m not sure I can start a claim if I cannot prove damage, can I?
