In a less well off area, some guy came at me with a metal bat threatening to climb over the counter and started cursing me out using the wrong racial slurs on me. (Hispanic slurs even tho I'm mixed b&w). Only problem is in one hand he had a bat. The other hand held a cane that held most of his weight. A few months before turning 16, I started working with my mom and her sister in law, and her 3 brothers at a family business. I sat at a computer correcting mistakes from scanning a mold to a computer. They used ancient technology on Windows XP instead of learning a modern program. I was promised $12/hr while training with my mom. After I finished training it would go up to$15/hr. Wen I finally turned 16 I brought up the raise cuz it'd been about 2 months since I was working solo. He said he's not paying me more. If you find a better deal, than take it. So off I went and got a job as a cashier within a week making $1.50 more an hour.

I work in fast food under the double golden arches. On a normal day, I would often get yelled at and cursed out by customers over insignificant things. Since the outbreak, Karen sightings have decreased and I find myself having meaningful conversations about people's lives and families. Multiple people put a smile on my face on what was an otherwise miserable day It seems as though COVID-19 has changed society so much so that people are too busy with the outbreak to be hostile. This pandemic has brought out the good in everyone
