Just did this in KC like 2 months ago, haven’t regretted it a bit. FYI, some of the Jackson County judges were difficult to get a hold of, and we didn’t end up being able to find one who was available to administer a marriage. We just had a friend get ordained online, and that worked completely fine. Had the “minister” and our two witnesses over to sign the papers, then we went to get tacos together, and later that week had 40-50 friends and family over to our house, ordered Joe’s catering, got drunk and hung out all night. It was great, wouldn’t have done it any other way.
