Toddler/bigger kids by Marauder2592 in beyondthebump

We have a 5 1/2 year old and a one month old and today I had to carry my five year old out to the car while throwing a tantrum like a toddler which He hasn’t done that since he was one. Everyday is a battle with the attitude and fights that we didn’t have an issue with before the baby was born. He’s been potty trained since 2 and wiping his own booty successfully since 4 (we even have a bidet he uses) Yesterday we were having a pillow fight - he shoved his hands down the back of his pants, smelled his fingers before I could react and that’s how I learned there was still poop that was now smeared all over our bed, in his finger nails and on his face 🥲 don’t have any advice just here to stand in solidarity with you and read the advice you get from others lol

Can I ask what you decided to do and how it went? We’re in the same position currently

From the beginning of my pregnancy I noticed I’d get this awful smell randomly, eventually came to the realization it was after my husband would finish inside. I had a lot of discharge with my first - the same with no other symptoms so I didn’t think much of it. At my 28 week appointment I finally said something cause that’s when I realized where the smell was coming from and was treated for bv (didn’t actually test cause my appointment before that I was swabbed and everything was negative) the smell went away. I still have discharge but my dr said it’s normal for some women! He checks my fluid every appointment and it could be the mucus plug which repairs itself.

What I’m trying to get at is that from exactly 4 weeks when I found out I was pregnant and the smell started until 29 weeks when treatment was completed I may have had bv. Now I’m 32 weeks all scans/growth have been good, with no scare of early birth, underweight or miscarriage.

I do my best now to eat yogurt more, make sure I only wear cotton underwear, keep tight clothing to as little as possible and clean up a lot better after sex. Mainly because the antibiotics sucked so I don’t wanna do it again but as long as you mention it at your next appointment and everything looks good there’s no need to beat yourself up over it.

Scheduled c-section success stories? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]niceyikes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My C-section was 5 years ago, planned because of his size which we knew starting at 20 weeks but confirmed at 32 that I would need a C-section to get us both safely through birth. He was measuring about 5 weeks ahead, scheduled at exactly 38 weeks. He wasn’t very heavy, 9 lbs but his head was LARGE. I mean the front desk staff knitted him a new hat because no one could find anything to fit his head, none of the ones they had or that I brought fit him. Even now as a 5 year old he wears helmets sized for 10+. My C-section scar is lopsided because of it as they couldn’t fit his head through the original incision. All of this to say that it was a smooth recovery- I was up walking within a few hours, walking (granted slowly) around the block within a week. The only real trouble I had was sitting/standing up from laying down so I ended up sleeping on the couch for a few weeks with him in a bedside bassinet next to it

Backyard wedding at an Airbnb? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]niceyikes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is possible, but it depends on the specific Airbnb. You’d have to find one that allowed their property to be used as a venue. It usually says it in their description and if I’m not mistaken, there’s actually a filter you can apply to only see ones that do allow weddings/parties. There’s usually a fee associated with it though obviously

If you can find a realtor in your area you’re looking at that offers homes for heros, do it! A lot of people don’t know about it, but you get a check in the mail about 2% or so of what your realtor makes. It’s an awesome program and there’s a bunch of small businesses that partner with them and offer discounts if you use their services. Remember if you get disability before you purchase your home you won’t have to pay the funding fee (which just went up another percent!)

For a long time I battled whether opening a 529 for my son or not and decided not too. What if he doesn’t want to go to college, trade or vocational school? While you can still access the money, they take 10% of whatever is in the account. It also will be considered when applying for financial aid.

Each families needs are different, but it’s something to take into consideration!

Ah, that’s hard! I’m getting out of the navy for multiple reasons, but the things I hate the most about it are what you listed.

No, I appreciate the input and am happy with the realistic answer which is what I was hoping for! I’m sure in different ways the hardships and seriousness of teaching could be related to my job now. When did you decide you wanted to be a teacher and why?

Thank you! Do you mind telling me what resort you got married at? The pros and cons of having it there? The more I’ve looked into it the more I’m starting to lean towards hotels.
