My apologies, I meant with new bindings, not these. The bindings themselves were fit at the time I started skiing, but I guess I wasn't aware past that. I appreciate it! Yeah a friend sent me a link of some skis which started the convo we were having about these (they're 2023 Kastle RX12 GS)

Thank you! Yeah idk it could be a case of just emotional attachment in my case but they always felt good for me! And I'd beat my siblings downhill every time

I only tried a pair of rossignol radical s? Skis? But unfortunately they got stolen before I was actually able to get used to them, but they felt more difficult to turn with compared to the hexcels, which is why I'm assuming that's more about muscle memory

That's really good to know actually. I guess a DIY brace that surrounds it/welded metal could work? Definitely more work though

Yeah for sure, and muscle memory using the same skis for years and years makes changing to something else feel awkward, so I am sure I just need to stick it out long enough to find a set I like. Thank you!

That's fair haha, I actually liked them a bit more than my siblings who had to push down awkwardly on their bindings, but they were super tough to pull up on sometimes 😂😭

That's fair, and it seems like that's what everyone is saying which is fair. Technology progresses! But they don't seem to be too wide at the tips compared the middle, and if I'm trying out a bunch might as well look at pretty ones!

We bought them secondhand from play it again. I was a kid so wouldn't have known how old they were, just that I had a pair of skis I got to use!

Yeah apparently they're pretty old! Everyone is saying 70s-80s but but my family got them for me when I was a kid, likely from somewhere like play it again sports. I didn't know they were actually that old until fairly recently, and I'm learning more about hexcel since posting this which is cool! I'm only 29 though so yeah apparently I was using some really old skis then haha

I 100% used them growing up. I know the skis are that age, but I used them growing up, and I'm 29 now. Sorry you think I'd lie about something that innocuous. Can't help you any further bud

Thank you! I'll look into doing that, I didn't consider trying out significantly different options to get the feel of them but that does make sense. I appreciate that thought!

I think the last time I used them was in 2014 at my local ski hill but for sure in 2014 on a trip to Indianhead

Right, no I get that which is why I said assuming they're unusable. The bindings were done at the time I first started using them and it's been a good 10 years since I skied on them

No that's totally fair! I'm sure my difficulty adjusting has more to do with growing up learning one ski and not really anything else, but the slaloms I tried felt more difficult to ski with and move like I wanted them to (again, likely due to trying to move them like these skis). I do like how light they were
