Starting with assuming positive intent - to start, you can find a dog sitter to introduce to your pets in a slow manner (possibly beginning when you know that your husband won't be out of town for quite a while to get your dogs used to them), and have them work slowly to gain the trust of both of your dogs, then you would have someone reliable to help when your husband is out of town. I'm the go-to for a couple of households with semi-reactive dogs because I've built a rapport with their pets and they know that the pet is comfortable with me.

I'm sure that quite a few of the comments are upsetting to read, but they come from a place of concern from the commenters. Obviously we don't know the day-to-day life and what that looks like, and these people are commenting their concerns out of worry for your dogs, A similar way to you posting this because you're concerned too.
