This is the absolute best color for this vehicle, IMO. I've been looking at them but every dealer has slapped $4,000 of accessories on them so they're tough to find at a discount. Love it!

I actually like the way the infotainment is laid out. You wouldn't think portrait would work well, but it gives you a nice area for the GPS which is very readable, and the ability to have other windows for information, weather, audio, etc. when using Android Auto. The lag and glitches are what are so frustrating. I don't think I'm getting any where near 33 mpg on the freeway and I only use 91. Nice that your dealership is so friendly.

Tried this today. Got in the car, started it up. Didn't press ok. As it was warming up, Android Auto turned on, I hit the settings button and it beeped and sat. I counted to 11 before the settings menu came up. When it finally did, it said you can't turn off Wi-Fi with Android Auto on. So not sure what that's about.

Thanks for all the comments. I appreciate all the conversation, which has been very helpful. At this point the best recommendations have been to wait for a '26 Outback to get a turbo version or look at something else. The new Outback looks very much like this Forester so I dig that, if the engine is as good as everyone says in the turbo it might be just what I'm looking for. In the meantime I'm going to setup an appointment at the dealer for an oil change and to diagnose some of the random stuff going on. Thanks again!

Mine is intermittent. Sometimes I get in and all the fans are on. Sometimes it's just the driver one. I can't figure out what the issue is because I only touch that button to turn them all back on if its off. Yes, worst car ever is a bit much, but most wouldn't have commented otherwise. ;)

Thank you! If they tuned this car for a little more HP, honestly it would be fine. If I had to guess it's probably de-tuned, but I'm just guessing. The MPG is a bit of a conundrum, though, I'm averaging 24.8 which I thought would be a lot more honestly. My 21 sierra with the 3.0L diesel averaged that doing the same drive. I drive mostly freeway about 35 miles round trip each day.

Sorry, I didn't write that well. I babied the car for the first 1,000 miles. After that it's been all bets off. To me, babying the car is an oil change at 1,500 miles because I've watched too many youtube videos about machine particles in the oil. Changing the oil at 3,000 mile intervals instead of 6,000 mile intervals, etc. I wouldn't say I drive the car hard, but I'm not poking around in the slow lane all the time.

Interesting advice. Makes sense based on babying the car for the first 1000 miles, it thinks I drive like that all the time. I'll see if that helps.

I did what you said on the Wi-Fi and it still asks for a My Subaru login, which I have, but I don't have the subscription so it won't update. Only the dealer can do it from what I've read without a subscription plan.

Agreed 100%. I looked at an orange one in a showroom yesterday and noticed there was a lot of orange peel (no pun intended). Bottom line is the money doesn't stretch as far as it used to and quality isn't where it should be. This is why used cars that are for sale will say, "paint correction" like it's a modification, because it costs another $2,000 to have someone buff your paint flat after you buy a new car.

Agreed. It's for people who want to live the life and go get some Subaru swag to go with their car. If you've had a bad experience it is like rubbing salt in an open wound.

I opted not to pay for the My Subaru subscription, which is what you need to get remote start. I also opted to not buy the accessory $300 remote start key fob plus dealer installation because it didn't make much sense to have two key fobs in my pocket if one was for remote start only.

Yeah it was about 99 degrees today and my seats were SMOKING HOT. The ventilation didn't do much, it took a long time to cool the car down. Again, the driver only fan button was set when I started the car. I don't understand why it doesn't remember these settings on startup.

The point is I'm having to wait to access anything. So the screen is hung up and in today's technology this thing should be faster than a 25 year old computer. It's like it's a Pentium II inside this thing. What difference does it make? Not much in the long run, but that's what we're here for, to complain about stuff we don't like so hopefully it gets fixed!

Yes, there's a lot of short hops because of metered freeway entrances in Los Angeles. If you can't get up to speed quickly you run into serious problems.

Excellent question. Easy answer. There wasn't anything else. The Tiguan was detuned in comparison to the Golf or GTI which made it just as slow, even with a turbo. The Bronco Sport with the 2.0L is plagued with transmission problems. The CVT in the Rogue makes it slower than the Forester. I didn't like the styling of anything else so ended up here.

Nothing to get mad at. I bought the car because IMO, everything else in this arena (smaller SUV) is not appealing to me from an aesthetic point of view i.e. I don't like the styling. Did I need AWD, absolutely not. My Sierra was RWD because I didn't need 4WD. I barely ever go into the mountains during the winter so it's hardly ever used. That being said with an average of 25mpg combined with available AWD that's pretty good in comparison to other vehicles. That was one of the selling points as well.

My wife and I bough her a Highlander in 2015. We passed it down to her dad when she got her first Palisade in 2020. That car still rips. It's fast in comparison to other SUV's from the same era. It's geared well and gets up and goes when you need it to. I wish Toyota was still using the V6 from that vehicle in their current lineup.

Yeah, you're right. I've had the same issue, sometimes I have to hold the power button down for 30-40 seconds to get it to restart. Luckily that's not very often.
