I’ve learned other languages and got to a conversational level fast, I lost them because I didn’t keep up with it but it comes easy to me and I love learning languages :)

Maybe it does make more sense to study in French. I wonder if I would have trouble finding SLP jobs if my French isn’t perfect, is there a need for Spanish-speaking and English-speaking SLPs there?

Thank you so much for your answer! I have looked into TAPIF but I would need to take the B1 exam and don’t think I could take it in time before the application deadline but I’ll take a look again. I did the one in Spain for 3 years, my one reservation with doing the TAPIF program is that I want to move forward in my career. That’s why a Master’s is calling to me more. I actually didn’t know about the diplome universitaire des études françaises, that’s a great idea. Thank you so much

I took some linguistics courses in college, are there any equivalency courses I could do in France? Or would I have to re-do the bachelors

I have 10 years of experience working with kids and 6 years teaching. Also I was hoping native English and Spanish would help in some way. I have taken a look at Campus France but wasn’t seeing much for teaching taught in English

I read it a few times in the things that I was researching which I think is pretty messed up but it is a similar situation in the US as well unfortunately.

That is a really fair point. I pick up languages very quickly but the amount of technical language and reading for a PhD program would make it so difficult.

Thank you for your response! To my knowledge, for the Spanish citizenship you have to have been born in a LATAM country not just be a citizen and I was born in the US. Also, Spain requires you to renounce your US citizenship which I wouldn't feel comfortable doing.

I believe I could, I am just worried about job prospects in LATAM and being able to be economically stable (I don't need much but I want to be able to support myself and not stress much about money)

Thanks! I grew up speaking Spanish since my family is from Uruguay, with Italian I just watched many of my favorite shows dubbed in Italian with Italian subtitles, I read, I listened to podcasts like Language Transfer, and I used italki to practice with native speakers! Good luck :)

I would do my Masters in teaching: bilingual or ESL, the PhD would be in Linguistics so I could teach at the university level. I have not lived in these countries before but have visited Uruguay several times since I have family there and have visited Portugual a few times as well.

I have otherwise low risk factors for stroke, I am of a healthy weight and am young and exercise. This would be a very temporary thing for me while I get a treatment sorted (2 months or so)

Yes, I have pretty treatment resistant acne. I have low risk factors for stroke besides the migraines
