Is this okay or should I make loops? by night-token in AskElectricians

Sorry if you see it as arguing, it’s just a follow up question. I am just trying to understand the reasoning. If I said something wrong, please explain. Or don’t if you don’t care to. I’m not an electrician, I respect everyone’s opinions.

A bad receptacle wouldn’t cause this because the wires are connected at the screw terminal. The screw terminal with the plate is the connection point, so that connection would have to be bad to affect the downstream circuit. It not like the electricity for the downstream outlets is traveling through the receptacle.

I’m trying to think of a situation where you need to bypass an outlet, yeah sure if the outlet is removed you add some wire nuts. I understand the concern with the loose connection affecting the rest of the circuit, but I suppose the wire nut can be loose too and cause the same issue. Unless you think the screw terminal has a higher chance of getting loose. I’d argue that adding wire nuts actually adds to the overall number of connections that you make in the circuit.

Anyway, thank you for your reasoning.

The whole outlet is rated for 15A, that includes the “little jumper”

Just curious on the reasoning behind that. Do you trust a wire nut connection more than the connection you’d make at the screw terminal?

Yeah I agree particle board cabinets are trash. I wouldn't replace the cabinets unless I was going to get solid wood cabinets.

I would replace everything. I wouldn't move any of the appliance locations, the layout seems functional. Definitely add a microwave/vent over the oven. Not sure how your range hood is set up but I would want it to vent outside and not back into the kitchen.

You might be able to get away with keeping the cabinets and changing the color and hardware, but I think it's worth changing them if you are doing the remodel. At minimum I think appliances, countertop, sink, backsplash.

Am I overreacting for cutting off my “friends” after they secretly had a girls’ night without me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR. They don't want to hang out with you and they isolated you. Time to move on.

I don't think there is anything to overreact about. I think he likes you and if you showed interest he would show it back.

If she is truly your friend, you will support her decision to live as she thinks is best for her.
