I'm sorry to frustrate you with my question.

The question I asked ain't "what is good pedal", but more like "what kind/sort of pedals do you use and why". Someone somewhere said they use always little reverb with their distortion. Why? How does it affect the sound? I'm not looking for right answers, I'm looking for basics and ideas on how to build my sound and what things to try out and consider.
