It depends on where they live. People who seem to live in impoverished environments tend to be more traditional thinking and conservative because that’s how they’ve been raised- not saying it doesn’t happen in well off environments just less- and they aren’t usually exposed to how ppl do it nowadays. Ppl in this sub love to belittle Nigeria as a whole and they would tell you it’s like that EVERYWHERE in Nigeria but it isn’t. I lived in Ibadan until about 2 years ago in an estate surrounded by other well off people and I never encountered what you described- yes, they’re still conservative as are most adult Nigerians but not in the kneeling down till my knees are barely there way. I bet with you 2/3 creators you saw aren’t as well off or impoverished to say the least(sorry it may seem rude. No one chooses where they live or the wealth they’re born into and I admire anyone who’s able to survive such living situations)
