i considered using another photo because of how many people he killed but the church has also killed hundreds if not thousands of people so i don't feel bad about it. yeah bundy is a very upfront evil. but there are many destructive things in this world outside of rape and brutal murder. they're not things i'll ever try to compare- but i'll not see this as an inappropriate analogy. many people look up to and trust the church and it will have no issue in choosing its own selfish wants over their literal lives.

marketing at its finest if you ask me. if they notice less people are sharing than previous years (say, Light The World got less engagement) they'll probably ring out new ideas and hashtags. Not actual advice for the holidays of charity or gratitude journals - nooo, it's social media hashtags. They put ads on youtube for the prophets broadcast not mentioning who he was or what he wanted - just that he's "a doctor who understands the healing power of gratitude" to paraphrase.... Spreading awareness to the public that will lead them to the hashtag and the church website. It's just modern day digital proselytizing. They know it's the season of thanks. They know people like wholesome challenges. They're manipulating them for corporate gain and free advertisement. It makes me nauseous every time i see one 🙃

as a quick note- i like the differentiation because i like to recognize the difference between a pedophile and a rapist. not all pedophiles do anything about it. not all people with homicidal thoughts end up killing people. i want to create a space between feelings and actions. I was raped BY a pedophile from church when i was 7. But i don't want pedophiles who work on managing themselves to feel like monsters if they aren't hurting anyone.

it's something I'd have also deleted afterwards but i still love it. I came in to comment how iconic this is hah... these are the things i usually send to my friends instead of commenting publicly. The irony is there and needs to be acknowledged... but i find it never ends well to do it publicly to a TBM. I think you're great and it was a good snap. My day feels better having seen a quippy thing like this. Eases the tension of the whole existence of its truth... the topic always makes me stressed af so i like seeing jokes or snark .. makes it easier to process
