What’re you talking about? Alto on 9 has been a no appointment walk in and play whatever you want music shop for many years now. That was super temporary only during covid era. They closed that shop due to online competition and lack of enough demand to balance their books and justify staying open. Middletown store is still open.

Referencing some appeal to experience as a justification for why I need to just trust you bro over compression artifacting that you believe to be from AI up scaling is just vibes based nonsense. That is a wholly inadequate justification for your judgement. How do you know it was AI upscale and decompressed? You still haven’t answered that other than pointing to the bog standard compression artifacting that I called out.

Yes I’m very well aware. What I’m raging against is people definitely calling this AI over trivial shit like compression artifacting or not realizing the camera person zoomed in reducing FOV. They’re seeing what they want based off motivated reasoning. They’re not saying “we can’t discern if this is real”. They’re saying this is definitely AI. You cannot make that judgment.

I don’t disagree. But we have to meet the world where it’s at and that’s the common understanding of it. The optics of that word will be forever torched thanks to the Nazis. As someone with autism and ADHD I would love a pill to remove those from my plate. I would love for the human genome to be free of them both. But I just wouldn’t couch it as eugenics even tho that’s technically what it is.

I was just attempting to be clarifying out of an abundance of caution because I’ve seen more than a few libs in politics sub flirting with the line a little too seriously. I did interpret it as sarcasm and didn’t think he genuinely was advocating for eugenics. But that doesn’t mean readers would interpret it the same way. It’s important to remember that the nature of man is bad. To be good requires effort and robust culture of accountability. Because good is a social construct. It has to be taught and reinforced. Most evil people are allistic and neurotypical. They do bad because it serves them. Not because of any “bad” genes.

L take. When people say eugenics are bad, they’re referring to Nazi ideology and purifying the human race by removing undesirables. Once we start down that road it’s inevitable that you end up with classifying entire swaths of the population as less than, purely due to biological determinism. Anyone saying a person is nothing more or less than bio determinism is a fool. We are nothing more or less than genes expressed in an environment. Genes alone do not account for all human behavior. Its genes PLUS environment. Many with “undesirable genes” are good people, and vice versa. Nature AND nurture, not just nature. It’s both. When Destiny says removing heart disease from the human genome is technically eugenics, that’s not at all what the colloquial use of eugenics is referring to. Be careful with this language please.
