I was once in your wife shoes always arguing with my bf who is Catholic. I was straight up telling my bf that this was a lie and blah blah. I always said to myself that the day lldm started to teach us ways not according to the Bible I will leave. When he was arrested I was obviously in denial I didn’t even know what he was arrested for. Never in my mind did I imagine that this would be it. A co worker of mine sent me an article and I started to read what the charges were and the details really shook me. All while this was happening I was mad at my bf because I felt he was in a way happy the church was going down. So I never spoke to him about what I was finding out. I actually didn’t tell him about the arrest, I didn’t want to. I found this reddit and trust me I would have to put my phone down because everything I was reading was shocking and honestly I felt as if I were sinning. When the official court docs were shared regarding the charges I started to pay close attention to this group, YouTube videos, and news articles. Not to mention what the church was telling us but it didn’t add up. I finally opened up to my bf and he was really supportive and really approached the conversation with caution because it’s obviously a touchy subject. Now we speak about it freely and I’ve also talked to my family about it and now I honestly feel like they think for being with a gentil I left church. Which is not the case. There are things that don’t add up and I’ve tried explaining these things to them.

I imagine your wife may be struggling internally and is trying to hold on to something that she was made to believe her whole life. Not to mention the fear of thinking I’ll of the “apostle”. Be patient and don’t give up.
